beans 11-03-2009 05:27 PM

they're better than half the other metalcore fodder i hear

Apoc 11-03-2009 05:28 PM

at least

The Feeding 11-03-2009 05:37 PM

I still enjoy them, fave album was prolly Gutter Phenomenon honestly

the new black is sooo good

HighandDriving 11-03-2009 06:16 PM
they're not that bad tbh
Ok but the last two albums fail in comparison to their earlier work.
Guilty. Most of the bands I'd list as my favorites would probably qualify as 'pretentious.'

Also - New Junk Aesthetic was pretty good and The Big Dirty was awesome, don't know why so many people hate on post-Hot Damn! ETID
See above and we all listen to pretentious bands around here.

xMalcolmXx 11-03-2009 06:44 PM

NJA > big dirty, by far. new junk aesthetic seemed like a complete album, where the big dirty was more like 4-5 songs with the rest being complete filler.

HighandDriving 11-03-2009 06:47 PM

Enough of nooby ETID.

Has anyone heard of Burning Empires, they got a 7inch coming out soon. http://www.myspace.com/burningempiresmilwaukee

From Wiki - "The hardcore/punk band Burning Empires consists of members from Misery Signals and Fall Out Boy and 7 Angels 7 Plagues. Ryan Morgan does the vocals, Kyle Johnson plays bass, Stu Ross and Matthew Mixon play guitar, while Andy Hurley plays the drums."

It's actually pretty good, the vocals sound like a weird mix between Architects and BMTH.

witchxrapist 11-03-2009 06:47 PM

Hot Damn! and Last Night In Town are so much better than that band.

BUT SCENE KIDS LIKE EVERY TIME I DIE, ****.

RetiredAt21 11-03-2009 07:01 PM

All the scene kids jocking ETID is what kept me from checking them out earlier tbh. My mistake. :/

witchxrapist 11-03-2009 07:16 PM

Yeah, they rule. I remember how I used to get so much **** in the hardcore forum for liking Every Time I Die, oh how the times have changed.

RetiredAt21 11-03-2009 07:47 PM

I don't ever remember people in the hardcore forum disliking them.

EDIT: 'cept dumb ol' me. :/

witchxrapist 11-03-2009 07:47 PM

Scott for one. So glad that dude requested to be banned.

RetiredAt21 11-03-2009 07:48 PM

Scott was just too cool for anything.

He asked to be banned lol.

EDIT: read that wrong lol.

nevertoolate 11-03-2009 08:23 PM

New ETID was pretty good I thought. Looking forward to seeing em down here early next year with 50 Lions, Mary jane Kelly and Trap Them (fu ck yes!!)

witchxrapist 11-03-2009 08:27 PM

ETID and Trap Them on the same tour? Damn, that's iller than ETID, Architects, and Oh Sleeper on the same tour.

The Feeding 11-03-2009 08:54 PM

last time I saw them was last fall, always a goddamn fun time

Dimmu Burger 11-03-2009 10:24 PM
ETID and Trap Them on the same tour? Damn, that's iller than ETID, Architects, and Oh Sleeper on the same tour.
Not quite.

Apoc 11-03-2009 11:46 PM

agreed. and not because of Oh Sleeper.

witchxrapist 11-04-2009 03:50 AM
Not quite.
Trap Them is infinitely better than Architects or Oh Sleeper, imo.

nevertoolate 11-04-2009 03:54 AM

either way they are coming down here for a national tour. Awesome.

witchxrapist 11-04-2009 03:56 AM

Yeah, lucky.

I really need to get around to catching Trap Them some time.
