i put manowar on at a party once and the room filled up pretty instantly

Morumbar 11-09-2011 12:38 PM
metal is horrible at parties
You guys only post this shit because you don't even listen to rock or metal yet post in R&M because the forums are mostly dead apart from this place and the pit.

fingers mccoy 11-09-2011 12:38 PM

manowar, if i recall, is relatively good party music by the standards of the genre

xMalcolmXx 11-09-2011 12:38 PM
ya malcolm but i just want you to know that i understand the real reason why you think its true
i because i am who am

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:39 PM

the lack of understanding of demographics here is astonishing

i mean have we not learned a single thing from brent shannon?

RouteOne 11-09-2011 12:39 PM

it really does depend on the crowd

I've been to parties where metal is played and everyone was cool about it

Generally the music played at most parties is pretty terrible imo

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:39 PM

agreed

xMalcolmXx 11-09-2011 12:40 PM

party rock anthem transcends all demographics

Tyler 11-09-2011 12:41 PM

extreme metal is generally kinda awkward as fuck at parties though.

i listen to rock and metal and have always lurked this part of the site

i just don't post in it that much cause most people in this section don't have my kind of sense of humour, but sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze

beans 11-09-2011 12:41 PM

steel panther always seems to get a good response when I've put it on.

RouteOne 11-09-2011 12:41 PM

WE GOT DIX LEIK JEEZUS

can't tell you how many times that terrible song was played at parties in my senior year

RouteOne 11-09-2011 12:42 PM

fingers what metal bands do you listen to

fingers mccoy 11-09-2011 12:42 PM
extreme metal is generally kinda awkward as fuck at parties though.
mostly what i'm getting at

the more glamorous stuff can last about one song before people are like wtf happened

xMalcolmXx 11-09-2011 12:42 PM

i'm dj'ing a 90s themed party on friday

obviously opening my set up with whoomp there it is

beans 11-09-2011 12:43 PM
parties that dont consist of smelly ppl in hoodies and basketball shorts holding half empty 40s
take it to the deathcore thread

fingers mccoy 11-09-2011 12:45 PM
once more, my old apartment

yes but metalheads don't count in this discussion because a party full of metalheads is definitively no party at all

RouteOne 11-09-2011 12:45 PM

100 Prurient tracks running in a loop

beans 11-09-2011 12:46 PM
once more, my old apartment

this usually happens between close friends hanging out. wouldn't call that a party. js
yes but metalheads don't count in this discussion because a party full of metalheads is definitively no party at all
yeah what he said

Morumbar 11-09-2011 12:46 PM
the more glamorous stuff can last about one song before people are like wtf happened
Only at parties where maybe one or two people enjoy a mild metal song or two once in a while.

Depends on the crowd.

Thrash, glam and heavy metal are good metal styles to party to if you're with a bunch of fellow retard metalheads.
yes but metalheads don't count in this discussion because a party full of metalheads is definitively no party at all
See, now this is where you're wrong.

xMalcolmXx 11-09-2011 12:47 PM

im basically just going to play jock jams 1 and 2 and some mariah carey songs

i need more obscure one hit wonders for sure. already have fastball, harvey danger, and tal bachman songs ready to go too.

witchxrapist 11-09-2011 12:47 PM

it wasn't a couple of close people though lol
yes but metalheads don't count in this discussion because a party full of metalheads is definitively no party at all
what are you blathering about?

a bunch of people getting shitfaced as hell and playing drinking games and having a generally good time together isn't a party?

RouteOne 11-09-2011 12:48 PM
yes but metalheads don't count in this discussion because a party full of metalheads is definitively no party at all
nah thats wrong

I've been to a few "metal head" parties and it was really fun

you're just English so you don't know what they are ya limey

gilmoregirls 11-09-2011 12:48 PM

sounds like a bunch of gay sex is about to happen, aint no party, just a deviance factory

xMalcolmXx 11-09-2011 12:48 PM
