you should thank god there's Metal Archives! It will make your research MUCH easier :)
DOH! You and your deleted posts :p
:p oopsies. I realy have to stop.. Yeah your right...it was just that I searched power metal and came up with 2000 + bands. I might use this place now and try out a band at random everynow and then...or maybe not. |
What is some death metal that I would like? I have heard a LOT, but the only bands I really liked are Nile and Cryptopsy... I also like Opeth... but imo, they are in no way, shape, or form death metal, although a lot of people say they are.
:-*
are you sure this is the correct spelling? I cant find them in Metal-Archives
Actually, it's Valkiria. :p Almost looks like Spanish power metal, judging from some of the song titles. |

You'd probably like Behemoth. Try their album Demigod. |
For the ones you name yes please :)
So I am looking for some more power metal that isn't really cheesy.
So far the stuff I have liked the most is either really close to speed metal, like Jag Panzer, or is really epic without being extremely cheesy like Blind Guardian. I can't stand some of the newer Power Metal stuff that is an absolute cheese-fest. Suggestions? |
Dungeon. I think I've mentioned them to you before. All their albums are good, though I like A Rise To Power most.
You could also try Demons & Wizards. It has Hansi's awesome vocals, but with nice thrashy riffage. Get the self-titled, the second album isn't nearly as good. |
hmmm, well i made a post and was told go here.

I actually have an album uploaded at the moment, so I could send you a link to download it if you post your e-mail. Freezing Moon: I'll third the Dungeon suggestion. |

It has better riffs than DT though. Not as much wankage either.
Cog. Particularly their Just Visiting EP's. It's quite good stuff.
Some good underground PM:
Avalanch Dark Moor Kamelot (Not that Underground but I think you haven´t heard them) Pagans Mind (More prog than PM but still a great listen) Luca Turilli Sinergy Rata Blanca Warcry Eidolon
Hey Txus, I'll check those bands out anyways, but are any of them like Elements Part 1 cheesy ? Because that kind of cheesiness doesnt apeal to me much. |
For all of you looking for good PM. Even though they really aren't PM, id recommend Symphony X, their kinda PM/Mostly prog but definately worth the listen.
|
Look at the first age of the thread.
Thanks for the recommendations a few pages back :) |
A few months ago I saw Australian War Metal mentioned somewhere. Anyone know what this is? And if so, can you recommend me some bands to check out?
Thanks. |
Done.
Thanks. |

Thanks.
It's like, I think, a bit of a clash of thrash/death/black metal, which for some reason has ended up being identified as Australian and Canadian War Metal. I'm pretty sure Deströyer 666 (Australian) and Axis of Advance (Canadian) are counted amongst the bands identified so, so you could check them out. Deströyer 666 in particular are quite enjoyable. Don't take any of what I said as gospel, though. Ideally, you should ask Terminal Spirit. |

An '02 member, who pretty much lived in and around the death heads thread. He was in Canada, and was really knowledgeable, so pretty much anything to do with Canadian metal (and a lot outside of Canada) he could tell you about. He got himself a life though and doesn't come here any more.

Yeah, I just searched the members list and he hasn't logged on for almost a year to the date.
