That's exactly what I mean. Like the intro to Limb from Limb...but longer
|
Yeah Happy, the end of Palms Read is actually an instrumental track, it's Limb from Limb Pt.2, it was just put at the end so it would crossover better
if you find it, mind uploading it on mediafire? that sounds pretty cool.
Sorry this took so long. Just brace yourself, this is a very, very rough bootleg from 2005. That and the solo isn't good...at all. In the first version the quality is better, but I don't think Luke hits a single live note in it (again, 2005). In the rougher one, which is second (V2), you can get a better feel for what they were going for. Again, still understandable why they ditched it. Coincidentally, one of these performances is from SCENE 2005; I'm going to SCENE 2009 this year on my birthday (anyone else going?). You'll also notice the 6/8 break midway is a little different than the studio version. The guitar work is a little different, too. http://www.mediafire.com/?rv3t14zxrxg |
but the quality is pretty bad, i remember when i first got the bootleg i swore rody said "six year old girl" with this jewish "goyal" intonation instead of "six feet of soil"
listening to it now, and i definitely heard "six year old girl" too. thanks coke, appreciate it |
np, i have more somewhere, including a full 45 minute set from Halifax when rody had this really gay highlighted shaved on the sides scene-cholo haircut
|
Two remarks:
1. I'm impressed that they nailed the half-second delay on "shot (shot) gun (gun) will..." 2. The guitarist attempting the solo has a hard time accepting that he's not Thomas Erak. |
It was Luke. I was at that gig, though, the sound sucked. He semi-nailed it in the second version.
|
Coke - I'll be at SCENE. What bands are you gonna check out specifically? ETID's gonna be sick.
|
I don't even know what bands are there, truth be told. A buddy of mine just messaged me and went, "we're going to Scene on your birthday". I'll have to look at the list. The year I went was great, though. It might have actually been Scene 2004, I'm not sure. Saw the End and Protest, but I missed Bear vs Shark because a friend wanted to see Dallas Green's solo set (pre-City and Colour), which might have been one of the worst musical experiences of my life. It was just him singing (grossly out of key as usual) a bunch of AoF songs acoustically while a bunch of fag, awkward teenage girls sat on the floor weeping.
edit: Just looked. Pretty terrible line-up. Ehghhh |
Arif is playing stand-up for this folk/country/bluegrass musician saturday. Intriguing, might check it out.
|
alright so their bookie is being impossible, we're probably not gonna book them.

I wonder if he'll try to do some insane tapping on that upright. |
I wouldn't count on it, it's pretty traditional bluegrassy stuff. He didn't go nuts when he played with Jadae Kelly, I wouldn't expect it this time around, either.

I loved them, a lot. I had no idea they would break up like a year later. I was pissed off the day it happened and I'm more pissed off now :@
|
I saw them at like their 2nd or 3rd to last show it was with FoT and Fear Before (who also put on a sick show despite not being that good) and Since By Man which was generic and the singer preached about some **** for like 5 minutes between each song and nobody could tell what he was saying because the mic sucked lol
Best part was seeing my 6'4'' 300 pound friend level some hardcore dancer with his elbow during fear before |
sounds epic

What the hell does this mean?
"Creation's an escape to find the perfect equilibrium, like fossils" |
creation shedding skin
to find a perfect equilibrium like FOSSILS |
Protest The Hero
WPFF will probably kill me for this question, but what genre are they?
I like what I hear, by the way. |
what is WPFF
and their genre does not matter once you start caring about genres you start pidgeonholing and that is bad |

Was just checkin' out the Killswitch myspace and I believe Protest will be on tour with them in Canada in Sept alongside with In Flames and Between the Buried and Me.
Going to be a sweet show, now a bit off topic, what's a good CD to start with for BTBAM? |
if you want to get into all of them, just go from The Silent Circus to Alaska to Colors
|
Just got back from watching Jack Marks and Lost Wages. Really good country/folk act, features Arif on stand-up. Was a very good set, fluid for a band who hasnt been together long. Jadae Kelly made an appearance, too, sang some harmonies on a track.

Did Luke and Tim play the acoustic codas on Kezia? I was listening to the album again in the car recently and what really struck me was how well they transitioned in style (if they transitioned at all) from what sounds good on an electric guitar to what sounds pretty on an acoustic.
