Shadows 08-28-2005 06:37 PM

It doesn't matter. Foolishness knows no time of year.

Back to Bodom and how much *** they kick. I'm listening to Warmen - Beyond Abilities right now and it's amazing.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 06:38 PM

Warmen's stuff sounds like instrumnetal stratovarius with too many keyboard solos

flamesofbodom 08-28-2005 06:39 PM

Me too!

Warmen's better than Stratovarious :p

Shadows 08-28-2005 06:40 PM
Warmen's stuff sounds like instrumnetal stratovarius with too many keyboard solos
There's no such thing as too many keyboard solos. Blasphemer!

IheartSP 08-28-2005 06:40 PM

I like Stratovarius' non-cheesy stuff, like Speed of Light, Black Diamond, Phoenix, etc.

flamesofbodom 08-28-2005 06:42 PM

Episode, Eagleheart, Stratosphere

Shadows 08-28-2005 06:43 PM

I don't know any Stratovarius, but I know their keyboardist was Janne's biggest inspiration, so I'll check them out.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 06:44 PM

lol sorry Eagleheart is cheesy. The other 2 are great but instrumental. I love Stratofortress that is a good instrumental too.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 06:44 PM

Janne's keyboard lines sound like theyc ould go right in stratovarius.

Silenius 08-28-2005 07:10 PM

Jens Johanssen (thats stratovarius's keyboard players name) is pretty **** good. I love his fast-*** arpeggios in the backround of the "Find Your Own Voice" chorus.
Janne's keyboard lines sound like theyc ould go right in stratovarius.
He did take the patch for his lead tone right from Jens.

Shattered_Future 08-28-2005 07:47 PM

I still don't know what's so good about Stratovarius...they just seem like really watered-down power metal to me, even though they were one of the main forces on the music.

They're good, but nothing stands out about them to me either.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 08:44 PM

Anyone else here get $hit at school for being a metalhead? People instantly assume I'm a stoner and some badass.

Huber 08-28-2005 08:59 PM

I get some dirty looks sometimes for wearing some metal band shirts, but nothing big.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 09:06 PM

Im really quite not badass, I'm a jew so that already adds like 5 pussy points haha

Billy! 08-28-2005 10:02 PM

Bed of razors is my favorite song(to play and to listen to) even if it is a bit slow. Listening to it right now and didn't even realize it haha.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 11:22 PM

someday we all have to do a yahoo jam
Anyone else here get $hit at school for being a metalhead? People instantly assume I'm a stoner and some badass.
I have never got any **** really, but I got a lot of weird looks like Sliptallica. In Eastern Canada (New Brunswick), at least where I live, there are not many fans of metal. I like to call this place the "hick ghetto." Most people around here is a hick, at least in the way they talk, and you are seen as weird if you do not believe that 50 Cent is the savior of modern music.

I certainly don't look like a "typical" metalhead, and that is why I get the weird looks. People in the hick ghetto get suspicious when they see a 6'2 guy with short red hair and skin as white the walls in his room walking around with a Slayer or Megadeth shirt that does not enjoy 50 Cent! I just laugh though. I believe metal is not about image, but the music itself, and that is the way I hope it stays for many years to come. :thumb:

IheartSP 08-29-2005 09:25 AM

Well I guess if you go by image, I look like someone who likes 90s death metal. They just dressed in jeans and a black shirt. I'd probably never have any goofy 80s outfits on, and I'd never wear makeup or anything weird like that. I still look pretty metal, I have hair down to my shoulders and I always wear black, and a Maiden or Bodom shirt.
I get some dirty looks sometimes for wearing some metal band shirts, but nothing big.
same here, but probably because I'm a girl. Sometimes, if we go to one of the more upperclass malls...adults give me really odd looks. Its funny as hell. :D
I still don't know what's so good about Stratovarius...they just seem like really watered-down power metal to me, even though they were one of the main forces on the music.
I love Stratovarius. :D

Why don't you come to the HateCrew board anymore, Mike? Long time no see.
Janne's keyboard lines sound like theyc ould go right in stratovarius.
That's probably because he idolizes Stratovarius' keyboard player.

deathscreamingsheep 08-29-2005 10:11 AM

Most people round me are chavs of the worst sort i.e. wiggers who reckon they can be hard by jumping anyone not in a nike track walking around going "Innit blad bruv bling" so I get some grief. Luckily I talk to some metalhead guys who are in the rugby team etc so I'm pretty safe on the most part.

Shattered_Future 08-29-2005 10:12 AM

I don't really get LOOKS...people are just afraid of me. :p

I went to my friend's camp for a day once (on his graduation...don't ask), and nobody there wanted to look at me. Was the funniest thing I ever saw.
