Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 04:31 PM

Still cant watch the paper cut scene though, I can watch open heart surgery, men being blown in half, but that still makes me cringe every time

Jackass is probably hated, but I still think its classic. And Dirty sanchez is just a darker version that is just as good, par the overdose of male nudity :upset:

Untitled 09-03-2004 04:33 PM

Yea, that bits just been on, jonnys fighting butterbean now, but i faint to easaly

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 04:43 PM

Watching Wildboyz at the moment, definitely the better of the two jackass spin off shows. bam is an ego prick, but he has funny people around him

Untitled 09-03-2004 04:48 PM

Air horn golf now, i so want to go do that down at the local driving range. Bam to me seems a little to full of himself and stuff, but i perfer that then wildboyz

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 04:52 PM

Some of bams stuff is ok (the whole rally one with 3 teams who had to complete the lsit of tasks), but I find wildboys easier to watch, as Steve-o and Chris are more interesting characaters.

Untitled 09-03-2004 04:53 PM

Yea, steve-os a funny guy, i wanna see his DVDs hes bruaght out on his own.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 04:57 PM

He's got loads out, i remember an amazing quote he said on gonzo

"I dont make videos of my stunts, I make albums."

Untitled 09-03-2004 05:10 PM

Ha ha, great qoute, id buy them but im poor and have no money :upset:

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 05:14 PM

They get shown on some random channel now and then, they're not great, more of a collection of his live shows/home antics, than anything structured.

Did you catch his live stage show? I missed it both on tour and at download, so im annoyed.

Untitled 09-03-2004 05:18 PM

No i wanted to go, but i always make plans to go places but never end up going :( i was supposed to be going to watch franz ferdinand but it looks doubtfull now.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 05:21 PM

Probably best to catch the soon as they will either get too big and not be worth seeing, or will fade away and probably not play for a while. I think they sold out at all locations that even possible for me to get to, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see them now.

Next gig for me, Biffy Clyro, 12th oct

Edit: No, 36 crazyfists next, not a fan, but it was a deal I made with a friend that I have to see them

Untitled 09-03-2004 05:23 PM

Well FF are doing 2 manc. gigs, the first is sold out, the second isnt yet.

My next gig - blink182 3rd of dec, its ages from now.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 05:27 PM

Same night im seeing machinehead, I think those two gigs are gonna be very different from one another.
I wanted to see blink about 2 years ago, i had the tickets and everything, then Tom goes and does his back in. Since then i've not been a big fan

Untitled 09-03-2004 05:36 PM

Yea, both types of rock, but totaly different. Ive always liked blink, didnt have tickets for there other gig, i only realy like Indie and pop-punk so if machinehead arent them i prob wont like them much.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 05:39 PM

No machinehead are pure metal, but a better type than the usual rubbish. Its probably my more extreme end of the music spectrum. haven't givven indie much of a listen to recently, might do again now that Ian brown has a new single out

Untitled 09-03-2004 05:48 PM

Metals not my thing, i like some bands but i think people dont class them as metal on here, just more hard rock, i cant say ive heard that single.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 05:53 PM

Its being played on mtv2 a lot at the moment, it has a guest apperance from Noel gallager (sp?) in it. So its probably one of the more ugliest videos of recent times.

I find it strange that people on here would call them hard rock, but then again, some of the classifications on most bands seem weird nowardays, not a fan of classifiying bands

Untitled 09-03-2004 05:59 PM

Nah me either, a lot of it confuses me anyway, i seen a vidio with noel gallager playing in it, i cant remember what it was though, it had some guy singing and him stood behind him playing, i cant remember if thats, that though.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 06:02 PM

Thats the one, the guy singing (the slightly uglier one) is Ian Brown. He looks pretty rough nowardays, but he still makes some good music.

Untitled 09-03-2004 06:13 PM

Oh right, well ive heard it then, just couldnt remember the name, i like oasis, one of my fave indie bands, apart from 'phonics.

My PCs, ****ed, i just had to system restore it :(

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 06:19 PM

Not the blue screen of death I hope, noit had that on this PC yet.

Sterophonics, there's a band I haven't listened to much recently, mainly as I dont have any albums, but I respect them, and they have a good few songs that have unfortunately been played to death by the bands who play the pub gigs in my town.

Untitled 09-03-2004 06:24 PM

I have all 4 albums, there very good, i wana cover one, but not one many people have heard, like of the first album and not released, but the rest of my band hates them.

Its not blue screen i had, just the internet explorer couldnt load the page, i just restored it to 2 days ago and alls good now.

Edit: one songs, not one album.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 06:29 PM

Yeah, something like Bartender and the Thief would be great to play, but likewise, I must be the only phonics appreciator in my circle of musician friends.

Untitled 09-03-2004 06:34 PM

Theres one girl i know who plays guitar and loves the phonics, shes only just started on guitar though. Id like to play bartender and the thief, or a thousand trees, its a case of winning over my other band members though.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 06:39 PM

The way I usually get a compromise is to play a song they want to do, no matter how much I hate it, then negotiate to play something they dont really like. I did that with an old group of musician friends (im not in a band, I just jam), I played a NOFX song (really simple, v.boring) and they then allowed me to play mogwai, even though they hate slower music
You play bass again right? I think I remebr you saying you did

Untitled 09-03-2004 06:52 PM

Yea i do, my guitarest listens to seriously bad music, we was at his house jamming and he put this song on called "she killed her" or somthing and its just this girls talking in a inocent vioce saying "i killed her, i crushed her head, i made her dead" and it realy disturbed me. He couldnt understand that we couldnt define what type of song we were righting untill after we'd made it either. He just kept saying "so is this a punk song" so i reply "we dont know untill weve wrote it" and he goes on and says "well we need to know what were righting." Hes annoying somtimes.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 06:56 PM

Yeah, those type of people dont help the writing process at all. Its strange that someone into such weird sub genre type of songs would be like that. A song take its own life when you begin writing it, you cant force it to be something else. I never go out to try and create any type of genre, usually the end result is a piece that sounds completely different from music I would listen to, but still is pleasing to my ears.

(im betting that he's a guitarist though? We're the contol freaks)

Untitled 09-03-2004 07:05 PM

Yea he is, i said that lol, but i know that itll end up indie/punkish anyway once the lyrics are down, if they leave that to me, i just joke about with them. The bastard who is a control freack though has more gear then the rest of us, hes about to buy a 2nd guitar, has pedals, and proberly the best guitar out of us, but is the worst player, and his excuses, ive been play same lenth of time as him, both started cristmas day, to me he says "bass is easier" and to adam(lead guitarest) "youve been playing a year longer. Even though my leads self tuaght and the other getinf lessons off someone he knows.

Adam Jones is GOD 09-03-2004 07:10 PM

THis guy sounds just like a guitarist I used to play with, he couldn't play to save his life, yet he was taught by the same teacher who taught me plus a few guys from bands tried to teach him, but he just strummed everything and got so much fret buzz it was unreal. The worst part was he couldn't keep a rythym, so it threw off even the drummer with the beat. And he had a warlock guitar, yet wanted everything to sound punk.
There has to be peole like this around though, it makes the rest of us appreciate having some kind of talent

Untitled 09-03-2004 07:16 PM

Ha yea, this guy goes of looks for guitars, hes geting a vintage Sg copy, which might not be bad but he could just save his wages a couple week later and get an Epi, i told him he could upgrade his pickups on his first guitar and hes like "why would i wanna do that". Some one i know once asked would i rather play a guitar that looked crap but had a great tone, and great playablity over one with good looks, i said yea, and my guitarest said no, hes a madman. My lead has to right both guitars too, he leaves me with bass, and we might of finaly found a drummer at long last.
