Man, this whole place is dead...um...I just downloaded a Dark Star Orchestra show from that site. I've never heard them before, but they're supposed to be pretty awesome. They're coming to Pittsburgh again this year, but I'm not gonna be able to make it. I'm also missing Gov't Mule + Tea Leaf Green tomorrow, and Derek Trucks the next day :(

Actually it sucks big balls here. Luckily, I'm only 45 minutes away from a major metropolitan area (Pittsburgh), which is the only thing I have going for me.

Jefferson Airplane is coming here too and I'm REALLY pissed I can't go to that.

[I]Harvest[/I] and [I]On The Beach[/I] are my favorites. I'd definently suggest getting [I]On The Beach[/I]. That is an EXCELLENT album.

Well, I'm only 15 so I can't drive myself, meaning I have to go with one of my parents. My mom told she's not taking me to anymore until summer, and my when my dad refused to take to Gov't Mule I figured he wouldn't take me to anything else since he actually likes Warren Haynes.

I saw it, it was great. Clapton's playing is amazing, I think he's easily the best blues player in the world right now. Vocals I can somewhat agree on. Claptons were never very strong, but Bruce's was very strong for his age.

I'm afraid there aren't any trains or buses that go from sh[SIZE="2"]i[/SIZE]tsville WV to Pittsburgh, and even if there was I doubt my parents would allow it.

And yes, Phil was awesome. I was really hoping for St. Stephen/Dark Star/The Eleven, but it wasn't so. Turn on Your Lovelight and Sitting on Top of the World were good enough for me though.

Sadly I wasn't very impressed with Buddy Guy's new album :/ A lot of the solos were pretty similiar, but I'll give it another listen. I think Clapton's better than Johnny Lang, John Mayer, and Doyle Bramhall (although Doyle is close). Randolph is kinda incomparable in my eyes, because nobody can top his pedal steel playing, and they're pretty different instruments. Robert Cray is pretty much on Clapton's level.

As for your first batch, Freud, Trucks is definently better technically; he's probably the best slide player around right now. As for the others, I haven't heard enough to compare. Although I didn't think KWS was that great, is he?

Hopefully my Clapton fanboyness didn't shine through very much, I tried to make honest comparisons.

Sonny Landreth is better technically than Clapton too.

I got Hot Rats! today, so you guys can stfu about me not having it.

Tommy was pretty awesome. One, I liked seeing musicians in a movie, and two, it was fun figuring out some of the symbolism. I might buy it soon.

A question for those who have seen it, or own a copy and can double check for me: when Tommy is running down the beach during "I'm Free", he runs by a bunch of cars and they quickly show the faces of the people in them. Was Lennon in one of the cars? I think I saw him in the last one, on the right.

That would be their Swan Song record label logo. Where it originated from, I dont know...

Jack Bruce sounded much, much better when I saw Cream. I thought he still sounded great on the London performances, but in NY he sounded really great and was really into it. His bass playing also seemed better in NY, and he looked a lot healthier too. Baker was pretty much a machine both concerts, and Clapton was just Clapton, though in NY he used the wah and the songs and solos seemed to go on a little longer.

Clapton definitely isn't the best technically but has an amazing raw emotion in his playing.

I want to see the Tommy movie.

I'd love to see Jefferson Airplane. Are they all still alive except for their drummer?

My friend who's a big Zeppelin fan has a huge drawing of that angel, her parents paid an artist like two thousand dollars to draw it and they gave it to her for her birthday. She's spoiled wrotten. It's an amazing drawing though, much more detailed than the regular logo you'd see.

It turns out my Communications teacher has a bunch of old tapes stashed around the classroom, so today in class I got to listen to The Who, The Doors, and Janis Joplin. Awesomeness ensued.
