Not much. I just bought Nevermore's "This Godless Endeavor," but right now I'm listening to Ghost Reveries.

I also have just discovered two godly artists: Bill Frisell, and Edgar Meyer.

Edgar Meyer in particular is impressive. He's basically a double-bass shredder. Just imagine how hard that must be, and you have a slightly accurate impression of why he's awesome. On his record he plays classical pieces with Bela Fleck and Mike Marshall, and it's orgasm-inducing. I recommend Mr. Meyer's album "Uncommon Ritual" with no reservations.

I'm giving "This Godless Endeavor" its first serious listen since getting it off iTunes last night. I hate to jump on the Nevermore fanwagon, but seriously, this album CRUSHES. Jeff Loomis is awesome at writing cool seven-string riffs that are still musically coherent.

TGE is an incredible album. Most say their earlier work is unsurpassable, but I think the new one is as good, if not better.

I don't think they play 7-strings on this one though.

You're probably right. On some songs they play a 7 and others they just tune into C#, but TGE is pretty low.

It's amazing stuff either way.

O yeah. Ugh, this kind of stuff just makes me go nuts. I love it. It's so heavy but musical, somehow.

Flabbit: Nevermore are basically like power metal with heavy, extreme metal influences in the rhythms. Think Megadeth-style dissonance and soloing combined with seven-strings and Cannibal Corpse-level guitar chops, death drums, and power vocals.

Nevermore, meh.

I don't know how to categorize them other than heavy metal. They have clean singing all the time, but they have really low, heavy ass riffs. Their solos are insane too.

I suggest checking out This Godless Endeavor or Dreaming Neon Black.

I like the grooves on Enemies of Reality a lot too.

Me too. Many say it's a terrible album, but I think it has a darker, heavier sound than their other stuff. Very listenable if you get the remastered version with non-sh[SIZE="2"]i[/SIZE]tty quality.

That show ruined itself. The first episode was funny but then they just did the exact same thing over and over again only with a slight alteration in scenery or something. That show got boring incredibly fast.

Yeah, sorry for over-reacting. I just get a bit annoyed at how "America" has taken over the world's pop-culture, etc. It started out as light-hearted actually, but I edited it, and it kind of spiralled out into this rant you see now. I didn't mean to poison the good-nature of this thread. :-/

A friend of mine is 1/4 American, though his grandmother didn't especially like Americans. I've heard plenty of similar cases. Also, a lot of land was commandeered as "US Army Only", meaning some people had to move their houses, and abandon their farms. It's just that thousands of ANZACs fought and died in parallel, side thrusts to the American offensives. The Kokoda trail was nearly as bloody as Gallipoli, and the city of Darwin was bombed on the 28th March, 1942. The raid targeted the RAAF fields, but ended up destroying a great deal of civilian structures, also.
