Let's Chop Cats! 11-16-2007 02:35 PM

Nah, show is too far and I won't make it in time since I'll have to come home and get my car, but I will be at the show tomorrow.

santi3hg 11-16-2007 02:48 PM

Might make it out to TIFY. Don't know yet. Did you ever figure out how long it takes from Daytona to Orlando?

NewKindofArmy03 11-16-2007 03:06 PM

Wish I could go tomorrow, working until 9 though.

Nah. I doubt we'd have time/money to go to Disneyworld anyway.

team_racket 11-16-2007 04:23 PM

/cue niko or scott making some comment about how Ceremony shows outside of Cali are not real Ceremony shows

40 oz 2 freedom 11-16-2007 11:05 PM

Seeing Ceremony in Cali was def 100 times more intense than Texas...jus sayin

santi3hg 11-16-2007 11:44 PM

Funny on their tour with Blacklisted they said their florida date in west palm was the best show they palyed on that tour. But I don't remember if that tour went even westward.

NewKindofArmy03 11-17-2007 12:35 AM

The show tonight was good despite a terrible PA. Bracewar and Mind Piece dropped off and Mother of Mercy played instead but I got there like a minute after they ended.

Trash Talk is so good, hopefully seeing them in a tiny basement on Sunday.

Let's Chop Cats! 11-17-2007 12:44 AM

I'm so psyched for tomorrow. I wanna preorder the LP but I won't get to hear it till weeks later. Did you pick up the cd?

Also I need to see Mother of Mercy, I've been listening to the demo non stop.

NewKindofArmy03 11-17-2007 12:51 AM

Nah I didn't get the CD.

Yeah, that Mother of Mercy demo is all i've been listening too so I was pretty pissed I missed them. I'm sure they'll be playing a lot in the area though.

40 oz 2 freedom 11-17-2007 03:26 AM

Seriously, the Mother of Mercy demo is the only new hardcore band in the last year or two that's made me be like "fuck yeah". It's all i've been listenin to

team_racket 11-17-2007 06:30 AM
animal live eh?
yes sir, ANIMALS. the singer was skanking by himself out the back to some bob marley or something. then onstage he was like a man possessed.

Someone upload this?

Ceremony shows on a stage or not real Ceremony shows.

Their shows aren't as cool as they were when they were picking up though. Too much wigger mosh and general dorkery.

I think they peaked and should have broken up right around the time the LP came out just because they would have left such a legacy.

EDIT: nvm, found the thread with a link in it

shane italian 11-17-2007 09:35 PM

Ceremony has always been a hype train I never got on

Let's Chop Cats! 11-17-2007 10:45 PM

Blacklisted played 2 new songs tonight. PA sucked so I couldn't really make out the guitar, but drums and vocals sounded pretty good. Cold World is the sloppiest band ever, only once have I ever seen them play good. New Mongo CD is good.

santi3hg 11-17-2007 11:34 PM

Sucks you couldnt get a decent ear of blacklisted new stuff.

whiteminority 11-18-2007 11:27 AM

I didn't see any wigger mosh when I saw them in Nashville which is full of that shit. A lot of smelly thrash dudes and ripped as **** guys in Gorilla Biscuits and Judge shirts were the main people I saw.

That's all fine and well having an awesome legacy, but they keep getting better with each release (well that would be completely true if Ruined was the latest ep, but is in general) and are playing more places than just VFW halls in norcal. To have broken up would not maximized their potential as a band, and right now the 7" is showing even better things to come and is a step-up from the LP in my opinion.

That being said I can't fucking wait for a new LP.

BuddyBigsby 11-18-2007 01:57 PM

The 7" is alright, definitely the worst thing they've put out.

And they're huge for a hardcore band right now, and that's magnified here exponentially compared to the rest of the country (especially where you live) so yeah they attract those kind of doucheknobs that would jock the Mongoloids or some ****.

Firecracker 11-19-2007 02:51 PM

I'm so annoyed I missed the tour with Bane, Have Heart, Ceremony and Blacklisted.
I don't know what I was thinking.

AndreTheHyena 11-19-2007 11:16 PM

I played with this band Saturday night: http://www.myspace.com/herculesne

Really, really good, fun hardcore punk from Omaha. They have songs about camping and fishing.

I know it's hard to compare shows I see out here to other places (Ceremony had at most 130 kids) but as a band they seem so down to earth with all the kids that I just don't see them fucking up and selling out or something.

Firecracker 11-20-2007 02:56 PM

DEP have confirmed a replacement show to the one they cancelled at the beginning of the month, and BTBAM are supporting. Man I'm excited.

BuddyBigsby 11-21-2007 01:27 AM

suicidal/municipal waste friday in chuntsville

gwar saturday if i'm still alive

TakeWarning 11-21-2007 01:41 AM

Suicidal played a pretty bad setlist when I saw them.

It was pretty boring actually.

BuddyBigsby 11-21-2007 05:19 PM

Yeah but your show didn't have cholos and I'm assuming could have been at some big fest

TakeWarning 11-21-2007 08:38 PM

Yeah it was at a fest.

But even if it were at a better venue, I still wouldn't have liked half the songs they played.

BuddyBigsby 11-21-2007 08:41 PM

My point being they're more likely to play a better set at a comparatively smaller show with a more punk crowd.

NewKindofArmy03 11-21-2007 10:15 PM

The stories i've read from of their shows back in the day sounded like it was just a warzone during their set. I wish that tour would come east.

Gwar is also rediculous live.

shane italian 11-21-2007 11:50 PM

Two days off of work for Thanksgiving is awesome

I get a week and a half off during Christmas too

And my birthday is in 2 weeks

Awesome couple of months

cbmartinez 11-22-2007 02:01 AM

Oh yeah, anyone who is into Bob Dylan, I saw I'm Not There tonight, ****ing great movie. Cate Blanchett and Christian Bale as Bob Dylan are both incredible, probably a oscar nom for blanchett

AndreTheHyena 11-22-2007 02:19 AM

I'd really like to see that and No Country for Old Men. Rare that I get excited for movies, anymore.

cbmartinez 11-22-2007 02:31 AM

Yeah, I think I'm gonna see that on Saturday. It's supposed to be absolutely incredible.

santi3hg 11-22-2007 02:36 AM

I've heard the same about it. Definitely want to check it out.

cbmartinez 11-22-2007 02:39 AM

The Coen Brothers are incredible, O Brother, Where Art Thou? is one of the best movies ever
