i just think the song is pretty. because im a sucker for songs like that.
*looks at his own avatar
Jeff Buckley rules. Hey, I think I'm the 1,000,000th person to ever say that. Anyway...I have that Postal Service song on my computer too :upset: |
are those bands actual emo?
eh. bright eyes could be considered emo. in fact, i believe they are. the others, not so much. arguments could be made for the postal service and maybe iron & wine. maybe jeff buckley but i prefer to think of him as transcending genre classification. yeah. hes cool like that. |
was the genre emo around in classic rock days? I hope not, that would ruin the name.
|
dont think so. so we should probably get back on the topic. haha. so uh...bootlegs are sweet. and so is jeff beck. i got his biography and its quite interesting.
|
Rod Stewart was the singer for Jeff Becks first band after The Yardbirds. So Rod didn't always suck.

Grow up and shut up with the emo hating kkthnx:). Also, emo is a kind of punk so can't be classed as Classic Rock. |

Beck is pretty awesome, he always seems to find some new way to bounce back and surprise me with a different yet pleasing sound. |
Bump
Of course Rod Stewart didn't always suck. He used to be so cool, singing with all the cool bands and such. np: CSNY - Sea of Madness |
the faces were ok too. but his stuff with the jbg is excellent. of course, becks playing got better after he dropped singers altogether.
|
Postal Service are not emo. Neither are Bright Eyes.
|
Rod Stewart wasn't always lame. Every Picture Tells a story was a great album.
|
I like Rod Stewart. He's a great singer and has great songs.
|
I like Rod Stewart too, but didn't some in this thread describe him as "Mom Music"?
I think it might have been Badmoon or Lunch. |
Not a big Rod Stewart fan.
Edit: Oh yea, I just found out that James Taylor lives about five minutes from my grandparents house (which I am at now). Weird. |
I love the way the Allman Brothers play the blues...I suppose they are my favorite at playing bluesy songs.

I think it might have been Badmoon or Lunch.
*raises hand* Or maybe I just agreed with them. Either way that's true but I don't care. Every Picture Tells a Story is a **** good album. |

I love Johnny Winter's blues style. |
FASCINATING sidenote about Johnny Winter:
When he came to New Haven while on tour, he went to Yale New Haven Hospital where my mom works, and she gave him a colonoscopy. My mom said he was the grossest patient she has ever had. |
I'd bet ;)
He's an awesome guitar player :) |
 That's crazy.
Give the man some credit. He was an albino, but still became famous for his playing, not his skin. |

My girlfriend's dad gives colonscopies. Yuck. He is rich as hell, though.
|
That's how I pick up Johnny Winter groupies :naughty:

I wouldn't know whether to be honored or disgusted. |
Well, I saw Tim Allen in my small little town yesterday. He was in his giant boat though.

That's a great album. Rod Stewart had some great rock songs back in the day, especially "Reason To Believe." |

Tim Allen? Wow...what an honor. np: Dylan - Masters Of War |
