It was either you op Dancin Man who introduced me to All That Remains, i picked up This Darkened Heart the other day and it blew me away. The backing vocals are brilliant throughout, as well as the guitar work.
I think it was either me or ICB not Dancin Man, becuase me and ICB talked about that band in this thread a couple times

Kage 03-25-2005 02:33 PM

Okay, the Bobo avatar thing has to stop. It was okay when there were about three people but now it's infecting everyone.

Arucard 03-25-2005 02:33 PM

I picked it up in an FL. Yeh it was Dancin' Man. **** they rule. My faverouite Metalcore bands at the mo = All That Remains + Trivium. Trivium's album is a masterpiece of musicianship.

A7X = fuc king pwnage. I love those guys, but im afraid i have to say that As I Lay Dying are an example of a better WTF style band. But STST cant be beaten. So brutal and choatic!
 Man you really hate dial up.
Well I had it from late spring 1997 right up to last October (though admittedly with an upgrade from 28.8 to 56K), and now I'm back on it having finally gotten rid of it :(

Well, I really like Discovery (less so Homework, though), so I might look for it anyway. I didn't know they had another coming out though, to be honest.

Shipley 03-25-2005 02:41 PM

when it comes to computers, my IQ looks like it's below room tempurature.

Ramsey 03-25-2005 02:44 PM

The whole cd?

EDIT: NVM

Arucard 03-25-2005 02:45 PM

Nope. Just 'Rain.'

Yea, I prefer Discovery as well.
I think their new one has just came out, so I'll pick it up next time I have the chance. I was just looking for opinions.
I would suggest you go to their site where you can stream the video for their new single, Robot Rock, if you weren't on a 56k.

Josh 03-25-2005 02:46 PM

3.83mb downloaded in 1 min 7 secs, transfer rate 58.6kbs  sorry 'tender

I love that single, and Discovery is a great album. Cant wait to pick up the new record.

Shipley 03-25-2005 02:50 PM

I wanna be sedated.

Kingofdudes 03-25-2005 02:51 PM

Can anyone tell me all the things that "GarageBand 2" comes with? Im thinking about buying it...

Don't, there are tons of better programs, unless you have a mac or something

Shipley 03-25-2005 02:53 PM

so... what do you guys play? I play the drums

Unless I missed something...macs are better for recording?

Kingofdudes 03-25-2005 02:55 PM
Don't, there are tons of better programs, unless you have a mac or something
What do you recommend?

Arucard 03-25-2005 02:55 PM

Yes. Duuuh. Have you been living in a hole for the last seven years?

Ramsey 03-25-2005 02:58 PM
Unless I missed something...macs are better for recording?
Umm, only thing that makes them better is their ability to multifunction better, because of their speed. You can get a normal computer thats fast, and it would be the same. Soundcard is the only real thing I can think of that would be better in a mac.
What do you recommend?
Cubase, Sonar Cakewalk

Shipley 03-25-2005 03:01 PM

I hate macs

:(. I might look for it anyway, but I've got a rather long shortlist of stuff I'm currently looking for already..

Have you seen Daft Punk's Interstella 5555, by the way?

*leaves for a while*

I thought there were more programs and such too? I know most media production is done on macs. I also know there is a class for music students here that deals solely with music production on macs, so I had pretty well gathered they are better to use, no?

Kingofdudes 03-25-2005 03:04 PM

Cubase, Sonar Cakewalk
This is probably a stupid question, but would these also come with the ability to record? Or are they mainly just for mixing?

Josh 03-25-2005 03:05 PM

Macs are supposed to be better for design work, like graphics work

Shipley 03-25-2005 03:05 PM

but I still hate macintosh...but iPods are kool

Cakewalk records, that's what I have.

Shipley 03-25-2005 03:09 PM

I don't record. That's why I have no clue what you're talking about.

munky_magik 03-25-2005 03:09 PM

Cubase also records. That's what I have.

Josh 03-25-2005 03:09 PM

i dont have an iPod...i want one...i have a brand-less (ie imported from China / Hong Kong) 128mb mp3 player, i can fit 30 songs on it max :upset:

Ramsey 03-25-2005 03:09 PM
This is probably a stupid question, but would these also come with the ability to record? Or are they mainly just for mixing?
Nope, you can do both. Record and mix. MIND YOU: I'm not telling you to buy these programs, Cubase and Sonar are 600 -900$, just download them off a bittorrent site, or I can send it to you.
I thought there were more programs and such too? I know most media production is done on macs. I never said otherwise....

I'm just saying you can do anything on a conventional computer that a mac can do...

Only thing macs offer is speed and less bugs and a good soundcard. If you have a fast pc, take good care of it, and have a decent soundcard or a POD then you'll be fine, you dont' need no mac.

You know that guy I posted his music here a while ago? Bulb? Everything he does is on a normal pc...i'm just saying Macs don't have much special to offer

Anyways this is trivial, so fuk u lolz
