magicbus 11-27-2005 05:53 PM

I like the Robin Trower one. That's a real cool blue.

NP: The Kinks - Arthur

Lunch 11-27-2005 05:57 PM

I like the Moby Grape on and a few of the Keith Moon ones.

I just sent out Lola, let me know if you didn't get it.

jpj 11-27-2005 07:42 PM

Thelonius Monk makes a good Santa.

NP: Rory Gallagher-A Million Miles Away

Broken Arrow 11-27-2005 07:50 PM

So many Santas and its not even December. (oh well)

Last year I made Neil a snowman.

Oh yeah, Tom I got that link working again. Thanks alot. :)

zabbit82 11-27-2005 07:58 PM

Meh.... only a few days until December.

I think I should start trying to make a Bonzo Santa... Or maybe I should try Billy Gibbons. He already has the full beard

Badmoon 11-27-2005 08:02 PM
Oh yeah, Tom I got that link working again. Thanks alot.
Terrific, that album's great.

Broken Arrow 11-27-2005 08:12 PM

I'll give you my thoughts on it later. I havent listened to enough of it yet.

Today would have been Jimi's birthday.

magicbus 11-27-2005 09:23 PM

Well then Happy Birthday to Jimi :)

Lunch, thanks for Lola, I'm downloading it now.

I know it isn't December yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm rockin' this avatar until Christmas.

blue3 11-27-2005 09:25 PM

Yeah happy birthday to Jimi.

I haven't changed my avatar in.. a year, I think.

Seafroggys 11-27-2005 09:27 PM
I think I might get the Cream Reunion dvd for Christmas. Which reminds me, Wednesday at 9 on PBS, they're showing the Cream reunion show, and then after that at 11 is the Concert For Bangladesh.
Get it...I was so surprised i got it for my birthday, I didn't ask for it. Its so good.

magicbus 11-27-2005 09:29 PM
Get it...I was so surprised i got it for my birthday, I didn't ask for it. Its so good.
I just found out that they have the best footage from each London show, so that'll be cool to see the best versions of each song. The bootleg I have is only of one show.

NP: The Kinks - The Village Green Preservation Society

Leper 11-27-2005 09:49 PM

I'm gonna try to christmas-ize my avatar, but if I fail, stick around for a bit magicbus lol.

blue3 11-27-2005 09:51 PM

How did he 'christmasize' his avatar so well?

Glitterati 11-27-2005 09:52 PM
Today would have been Jimi's birthday.
I just remember that, seeing as I share a birthday with him. And Bill Nye. And The Game.

thickasabrick 11-27-2005 09:56 PM
Hey thickasabrick, what show did you do? At the cast party for my school's show, there was no alcohol, and lots of bad music. It was pretty lame. Also, do you have McCartney tickets, or did you miss them this time around?

Charlie Haden is awesome.
We did Once Upon A Mattress (musical/comedy version of Princess and the Pea). I don't have McCartney tickets, as someone mentioned....he avoids Saskatchewan altogether.

I like the Barenaked Ladies, I don't listen to them near as much as I used to...If I Had a Million Dollars is such a great song. Same with Brian Wilson, did you guys know that Brian Wilson actually called them up to tell them how much he liked that song, that'd be so cool. "Lying in bed, just like Brian Wilson did!" haha, I love that.

I didn't know the Kinks made concept albums, I'm excited to listen to some now.

The albums I took: Volunteer Jam III and IV Hosted by The Charlie Daniels Band, Waylon and Willie, Comes a Time (yes I realize I said Time Fades Away before, that was an error that I was too lazy to correct at the time), Clapton - Just One Night, The Guess Who Live at the Paramount. Every other good album I already had, so the list isn't as long or lustrous as it could have been.

blue3 11-27-2005 09:56 PM

Hah, The Game. I don't think I share a birthday with anyone famous that I know.

thickasabrick 11-27-2005 10:02 PM
Hah, The Game. I don't think I share a birthday with anyone famous that I know.
Same.....my brother has the same birthday as Jim Morrison, but that's as close as I get. That's actually coming up pretty soon, December 8th I do believe. I should buy him a present.

Jim, not my brother.

Illmatic 11-27-2005 10:04 PM

Uh oh, sounds like SOMEone doesn't get along with his siblings.

blue3 11-27-2005 10:07 PM

Haha. I don't get my sister anything on birthdays or christmas. What are you planning to get um, Jim?

MBS 11-27-2005 10:29 PM

Robo and JonG are at the top of my compatability lists for RYM, heh heh

magicbus 11-27-2005 10:48 PM

Yea, I have definently been missing out on some good music here (The Kinks). Glad I could get a hold of some of their stuff. I might get an album of their's for Christmas or something.

TheDMV 11-27-2005 10:52 PM

I'm in the holiday spirit with my new* Jim Morrison avatar :)

*old

Leper 11-27-2005 10:55 PM

I actually didn't know the Kinks had any concept albums or anything like that. Perhaps I should investigate them further...

Jacaranda 11-27-2005 11:10 PM

My favorite Kinks album is Village Green etc... its so Beatlesque. But other then Lola and Arthur most of their albums I've heard had alot of filler or garbage tracks.

Whoa, were is the Jewish love? Damn you Santa.
/feels left out
I'll go make something clever from my avatar. Or not.

Wait, okay seriously were is everyone getting their avatars? Everyone and their Grandma has one. But me.

MBS 11-27-2005 11:24 PM

Photoshop it.

PinkFreud 11-28-2005 12:38 AM

i dont have one. dont feel left out.

damn lack of laptop. magicbus, this means i wont be able to update the photoalbum much, if at all.

schyma, have you tallied up all the votes in the 50 best r&mers?

Illmatic 11-28-2005 12:42 AM

Me, lepper, Jaca, and PF are the only ones without Christmas avatars.

Then again, it's not December, so I don't feel the rush.

Leper 11-28-2005 12:49 AM

I feel the rush. Ever since it snowed here I've been excited for Christmas. The laziness factor is all that's keeping me.

PinkFreud 11-28-2005 01:15 AM

i have yet to make a christmas list beyond the mortal kombat movie. i should probably get a move on that.

JonG 11-28-2005 06:24 AM

I don't have one. I tried making one, but failed miserably.

ATM 11-28-2005 08:00 AM
Nah, I remember I couldn't but I don't remember why. How was it?
It was really cool. They did some cool covers, like Don't Fear the Reaper, Cherub Rock, and Panama.

Kaleidoscope Eyes 11-28-2005 09:45 AM
Wow, saw Bob Dylan last night. He didn't play many hits, but Highway 61 was amazing. Swoon. Yeah.

NP: Hanoi Rocks - Don't Never Leave Me

Bye now :)
Most likely he did, but he played them so differnetly that you didn't notice

NP: It's Been Too Long
Irony++

DeusExMachina 11-28-2005 12:03 PM

Wow, I'm out of the loop. I didn't even know Dylan was on tour.

Slug, what show did you see?

Lunch 11-28-2005 01:25 PM

He was at the Umphrey's McGee show at the 9:30 club, I almost went to it.

 Looks like someone was banninated!

Poon: I only listened to the first song of the Matisyahu album, but I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Guess what I'm doing tomorrow, guys...GOING TO SEE PHIL LESH! w00t

Broken Arrow 11-28-2005 03:13 PM
Nah the only massive songs he did were H61, All Along The Watchtower and Don't think Twice. No Rolling Stone :( My dad and brother were let down by the show, which led to me enjoying it even more. I thought it was awesome, only wish I was closer to the stage.
I wouldn't go to a Bob Dylan show(2005+) with high expectations so I probably wouldn't be let down.

Well atleast those 3 songs are all amazing.

EDIT-Oh yeah I listened to the Matisyahu album and really liked it. Very original style.

God, I've got to see Phil Lesh if he comes... He's supposed to put on an awesome show.

robo2448 11-28-2005 03:38 PM

I'm definitely going to see Dylan when he comes to NY. Just so I can say that I saw one of the greatest musicians ever and one of my favorite musicians ever live. Even if he doesn't put on a great show anymore, just being able to see him would be worth the 50 dollar ticket.

I'd like to see Phil Lesh too. There and Back Again is a great live cd, seeing him in concert would be awesome.

 Walrus is back.

I don't have a Christmas avatar yet but just because I have no Paint skills. It's too early for me to make a Christmas list.

Jacaran 11-28-2005 04:53 PM
 Looks like someone was banninated!
Ya, I have no clue why. I got on and it was like "You've been banned for this reason: None" and I thought something was going on. Like MX terrorists have taken over!

I saw Bob Dylan, let down he isn't very good live. Not much else I can say. I wasn't expecting much though so thats good.
