Been listening to lots of Arsis lately.

that's pretty gay, not gonna lie

Well I've liked black metal more for the longest time but I went back to some of the dm I used to listen to and couldn't make it through the first few songs of albums I used to listen to all the time, like Altars of Madness.

plus the lack of quality output in the genre recently is a bit of a downer

whats wrong with arsis? a celebration of guilt was great. it got not so amazing afterwards, but still good. is the new album good?

That's dependant on the style tbh.

Clean production works well for some deathcore, other bands exhibit the need of nasty sound though, example being Whitechapel's demo in comparison to The Somatic Defilement.
