Hah, some bitch wanted to listen to my music on the bus because her ipod had run out of battery. I said "NO!, it's your fault for buying an ipod you stupid piece of ****!"

Some kid's iPod 5g fell out of his pocket and broke while I was sitting in the courtyard with my ZVM today. It made my day.
3G iPods were awesome, back before they became the thing that everyone had to have.
And noen of that clickwheel bullshit either, touch buttons all round!

Mine still works, bar a battery swap 6 months ago, which didn't cost the earth, as I had been led to believe.

stevensonmat2 09-19-2006 03:28 PM

whats wrong with ipods? they're the best thing to happen to music since teh walkman.

Janeway 09-19-2006 03:35 PM

It's an inferior product.

It's not a bad product. It's simple, easy to use, and does it's job. But it's inferior to other offerings from companies like Cowan, Creative, and Toshiba. All of the companies have players that are superior to the iPod in some way, but the iPod gets all of the attention.

All the iPod is is marketing.

I love my ZVM, eh.

Corkofski 09-19-2006 03:39 PM

DONT BUY WALKMAN

i brought a 20gb walkman, and soundwise it is awesome.

however, i lost the data cable, and to get it replaced cost me damn near £50 ($80) in premium rate calls, shipping and the cost of the cable.

because of this, if it breaks i will buy an ipod, since spares are readily avaliable, and im now boycotting all sony products.

Janeway 09-19-2006 03:41 PM

Why didn't you just order it offline?

I didn't buy a Sony when I originally wanted an mp3 player because all of the Sony CD players I've had have sucked.

maniac0796 09-19-2006 03:41 PM

The problem with the ipod is that:

EVERYONE i know has either had to send theirs back to apple/the shop they bought it from to be fixed/replaced, or had to have a new battery.

If it's such and amazing product, why can't they put a removable battery in.

And i'll tell you why. Becuase all they care about is money.

It's like when you buy a printer. You buy the printer, and then you have to buy the USB cable, and then the ink cartridges, and then the paper, and then more ink cartridges.

And corkofski, was it just a large USB to small USB cable, or was it a special sony device only cable.

Because if it was the former, then you can buy those from PC world or something for like, £1.50.

That was awesome man. Writing on the Walls isnt my most favorite song but its still a damn good song. I dislike Aaron's short pants though haha.

Janeway 09-19-2006 03:48 PM

That happens with all players. It's a mass produced product, and there are bound to be a lot of duds. That's what a warranty is for.

As far as the battery goes, eh. It's not THAT hard to replace it yourself.

maniac0796 09-19-2006 03:51 PM

My friend has had 8 ipod replacements in the span of a year and a half.
Another has had 3
Another gave up on ipods after his 3rd, he switched to a sony.

That's just a handfull of people...

Creative and sony products are so much better

Sunshine 09-19-2006 03:55 PM

Your friend sucks.

I've had my mini for over a year and a half, and the battery JUST STARTED to crap out.

maniac0796 09-19-2006 03:57 PM

My sister had her mini for like 3 months and then the battery started to crap out.

Sunshine 09-19-2006 03:59 PM

Eh, maybe I'm lucky.

But my best friend's mini lasted longer'n mine, I think.

Wait, no, no it didn't. But pretty close.

Janeway 09-19-2006 04:00 PM

It's because it's a Lithium Ion battery.
They've improved on it since.

I hope my battery craps out in my ZVM in the next year so it's covered in my warranty. I'm sure it will, because I use it 4-6 hours a day, 2 of which are usually video.

Cocaberry 09-19-2006 04:00 PM

Goddamn!! It feels great to practice for 2 hours and nail nearly everything. I feel on top of the world today. :smoke:

I was thinking about starting another comp. I'm on he forum every day, so I check my recent posts for reactions... I should actually. a play along like BB's... but this time put the entry date in the 1st post
Yeah, another comp would be cool. Why you tryin to get me banned in the Site forum though?

Win A Rabbit 09-19-2006 04:02 PM

I'd be up for another comp. Anything, really. Give me a month and I'll guarantee an entry.

because the calls were to sony because the part wasnt avaliable until november, and the only place i found not charging £70 when they got them in was phone order only.

for some reason, talking to the customer services supervisor for sony on one line and trading standards on the other got me a cable for half price in 2 days...

green242 09-19-2006 04:30 PM

I should enter one sometime, if I ever get some mics... If I get the unemployment I applied for, while i'm in school. I got a bunch of things I need... I am gunna take drum lessons, buy a new cymbal pack, aax's are lookin to be my choice so far ($610 cdn, for 14, 16, 20", and a hard case). And possibly a mic or 2... I dunno. I have money set aside for cash while i'm in school, and if I get the unemployment, I can spend it.

Janeway 09-19-2006 04:31 PM

How do you expect to get that much with unemployment?

And can you even get it while you're a student?

raz0r 09-19-2006 04:31 PM

The only problem i've had with my iPod is the battery, after a good 2 years of not charging it efficiently.

Rechargable batteries die, it's a fact. You only hear about so many people needing replacement batteries because so many people have iPods.

Apple probably doesn't even manufacture the batteries anyway.

Janeway 09-19-2006 04:36 PM

The new Tickle Me Elmo is retarded.

It's supposed to be a stuffed animal. A cuddly, huggable stuffed animal.
It's all hard and mechanic. You can't hug a robot.

I remember I cut open my Teddy Ruxpin and took out the speaker because I couldn't hug him. It was so frusrating. Fuck the story telling.

Sunshine 09-19-2006 04:43 PM

My cat had to go to the vet.

I forgot what it was called, but he basically has a big, infected zit on his *** that has to be drained and removed and he has to get a shot and some antibiotics.

I have to pick him up at 5..I don't know how they're going to do it, he hates everybody in the vets clinic, especially when I'm not around.

Janeway 09-19-2006 04:47 PM

My cat gets those on her lip sometimes. We just rub peroxide on it, though.

Speaking of vet...

Damn cat.

Josiah 09-19-2006 04:51 PM

Sounds like a sebactious cyst

People ragging on ipods are morons. How much common sense is needed to realize when a single product revolutionizes a generation... it might just, maybe, be well done.

Ipods are the single fastest growing product, ever. The fiscal reports from apple on ipod sales alone are staggering. Literally a economic marvel.

To say that product is crap, is just down right idiotic.

Sony, Creative, Dell, etc.. they hold such a tiny fraction of the market on those devices it's a joke for them to even bother.

Sunshine 09-19-2006 04:52 PM

I almost had it.

It starts with an "A," and is super-commen on cats, especially ones that get into fights.

Ab..not an abyss, but something like that.

The vet thinks he got into a fight with a cat and ran away, so the cat scratched him in the butt.

He's such a chicken, it's not even funny.

Janeway 09-19-2006 04:53 PM

Abscess...

Sunshine 09-19-2006 04:54 PM

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

Why I can never remember that, I have no idea.

It was leaking all over the house, it was absolutely disgusting.

Janeway 09-19-2006 04:57 PM

I would have squeezed it all out.

I can't resist doing things like that.

My Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra discography is done.

Nothing seems to be as energetic as Stompin' Down Beat Alley. Foo.

We're finally using the cheese my sister bought in Italy. And we're actually opening the wine she got, too. We still have three bottles of chardonay she bought in France three years ago.

Sunshine 09-19-2006 05:00 PM

He bites if you try and touch it, even a little bit.

And he never bites me unless I'm being a jerk to him.

And..there's no way I wanted to get that crap all over my hands and such.

stevensonmat2 09-19-2006 05:13 PM

Has it occured to you guys your ipobs might be crapping out because you dont take care of them? All the battery trouble is probably because you run theym dry time and time again, which is bad for any in-device battery. For the quality, price, and ease of use the ipod stands above all others.

Janeway 09-19-2006 05:21 PM

Put a sock over his head.

No, for the price the iPod is not above all others.
The ZVM has a better battery life in both music and video, the screen can handle a lot more, and the interface is bascially the same as the iPod, because Apple stole it. The touch strip is extremely simple to use. Simpler than the wheel. It has a customizable EQ, accepts more formats, and is scratch resistant.

And oooh, the iPod 5.5g. Isn't that a little bit late? It's an attempt to make up for the mediocre 5g.

Electric Requiem 09-19-2006 05:36 PM

5.5g is the best price around.

And jos, I think the computer/internet has been 1000s of times more revolutionary then the ipod.

I just want everyone here to know, that TRUST BRINGS PAIN remember that, never trust your best friend or your girlfriend cause eventually they will both hurt you, like maybe they will just amke out with eachother, then the friend will say he's sorry even though its the second time he has done it to you.

Just saying it may happen (ya as you can see I am pissed)

Futuro 09-19-2006 05:49 PM

Anyone watch the remember shakti concert? :(

Win A Rabbit 09-19-2006 05:51 PM

White, I've been there before. Multiple times. I was never "directly" in it, but I've had friends do that many times, and for some reason, I'm always the one who walks in on it and has to tell the other friend. I hate it.

Oh god. My parents just got home. They decided to buy me a bed. I've told them 100 times that my room (it's actually a den) has no floor space as it is, with a single mattress on the floor. But this double bed will be "so comfortable, you won't need floor space."

I guess I have to move my drum practice station, guitar amp/guitar and keyboard all downstairs now. Yay. Now whenever I want to practice I just have to freeze in the basement.

_R2D2_ 09-19-2006 06:01 PM

Ahh..
I feel you.

Cept It only happened once, so I can't take the stage away from you.

It's all good dude, we're still best friends. You just gotta make a choice. I said **** it, because he liked her and she liked him, so I was like whatever. I told him that what he did was ****, but yeah, it's never happened again, because they're pratically married, and I have no girlfriend on my behalf after my string cheese incident.

How would I get a Linunx OS. I heard they were free...
?

And you know how when you go to Internet Cafe's they have like a whole new OS dedicated to gaming. Like it's a whole new program ish/Skin type thing.
Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I so want one or the other.

Josiah 09-19-2006 06:35 PM

HAha if you never put trust in someone, how can you expect them to trust you?

And if you go through life never putting yourself on the line, you will end up cold misserable and friendless...

.. and most deffinetly loveless.

Love is a risk. But a calculated one.
