10k in half an hour? You're far too fit. It takes me 50 mins, and I'm not unfit or anything like that. Go eat a burger or 3. |
It was because of soccer training. Our usual circuit went a bit like this...
Two 20 metre markers. up and back 10x up and back 9x up and back 8x etc. Till we got to 1. Then we did a circuit where you run full pace around half of the soccer field in a figure eight formation. Then we'd do standard sprints, etc. Then we might play a little game or something. So yeah. It was hard stuff. |
I can run 10 in half an hour :\
Seriously? That's intense. An average person can run a 7 minute mile, and 10k is more than 5 miles but even 5 miles at 7 minutes per mile is 35 minutes. eek. |
So Im not actually sure, I've never tried. It was an exaggeration. But I might've been able to when I was in my prime, during soccer season. I've slacked off a bit lately though.
|
**** me, that's fairly heavy stuff.
Although in my defence, last time I ran 10k in 50 mins I hadn't run in a week cuz of flu, and was seriously hung over from the night before. On full health I reckon I can do 45mins, 40 at a real push. Go you being that healthy then ^^ More recently I haven't had time to work out or do much exercise except at gigs or on weekends, simply cuz I'm working 12 hour days at the moment. :( Can't wait till pay-day! |
Yeah man. Soon enough, real life will have to take priority again. I do really love being as fit as I am though. I've tried to keep it up somewhat, just by going on the treadmills and the bike machines and things. Afterwards I'd usually play footsall for a few hours. But it's lucky I am so fit, because my run up for cricket measures 21 paces... Anyway.
I need a job. Where should I work? Not doing anything food related, keep in mind. |
Hello pop-punk. How's it going?
:) |
Hmm.
Does food-related exclude bar work? I don't know how old you are and what the drinking age over there is, but in my experience working behind the bar of a decent club/trendy pub is pretty fun, speshly making cocktails etc. Old men's pubs are pretty funny though, listening to them all complain is hilarious at times. You HAVE to be able to pull a decent pint for that though, they complain otherwise. Aside from that... retail is always an option. I started 9-5 at WHSmiths (magazines, stationery etc) this last and it's pretty cool because of all the random people I meet. I wouldn't want to work in a supermarket though. After xmas when my temp-contract is up for this job, I'll probably get a job in Fat Face (trendy clothes shop). Selling clothes is definitely something I'd be good at. Failing that, admin work is reasonable if you can get it. It's usually reasonably well paid and an office environment can be boring as hell, but you don't actually need to do that much work and you can get away with murder. |
Sup Brian, how's your weekend thus far?
Sup Brian, how's your weekend thus far?
/late
So far so good. I saw Rise Against and Thursday last night, and I hung out with a friend for the better part of today. Now I'm watching the Sabres, so all is well. You? |

I agree with not wanting to do anything food related. People are WAY too picky about their food.
I'd try bartending once I'm old enough though. |
I worked in a pub serving food for 3 and a half years, it was the worst job I've ever had and I doubt I'll ever have one as bad as that ever again.
That's my personal reason, although I'd be interested to know what his reason is. |

You?
Ahhhhh, I so bad wish that tour would come to Pittsburgh. Did Thursday play 'Autumn Leaves Revisited'? Its going alright, but I explained a page or two ago about how I almost got jacked up this morning in a car accident. Also, my mom is a bartender. |

I don't really know the new album, and they didn't say song titles much, so I honestly couldn't tell you. That sucks. Also, I might as well take this time to mention the fact that the Sabres beat the Pens on Thursday. :D |

Hahaha, yeah, Pens > Steelers.
Sabres are up 1 - 0 on Ottawa! |
Some doctor told my friends dad, before the season even started, that the section of Roethlisbergers head that he hit in his motorcycle accident was the part that affects qucik thinking, then he accurately predicted him throwing a lot of interceptions.
The key to the beefalo sabres success is that nice new logo. |
New Glassjaw March 27th, 2007. God knows they took their time with it!
I agree with not wanting to do anything food related. People are WAY too picky about their food.
I'd try bartending once I'm old enough though.
But working food service can make you such a good cook, because you learn how to pander to others' tastes and in general get a lot of experience working around a kitchen. I loved working in a deli, but the clean up always blew and the pay wasn't great, so cashier is much better, but if I was just a cook I'd love to work food again. |
The only reason I dont want to have anything to do with food is because I dont want to have to go through all the training and what not, at this age. Im only 14. But, that said, once I've gotten a bit older I'd be interested in doing that, but for now Im just looking for something in normal retail.
|
yeah, i work at tim hortons... pretty much worst job ever.
making coffee isnt hard, but when im on sandwhich counter.. man its tough. |
Yeah see. All food jobs ever get is bad reviews.
|
That's because most the people who work food service are kids and don't realize that customers bitch in any field because they're just being introduced to the real world.
|
oshi
Sup, guys? |
Ugh, we all missed Chels again.
Not quite yet. :) |
Well Im filling out my SAT registration. Im interested in studying a lot of things, but I dont know how they would be practical unless I wasnt to be a teacher in that field.
|
Like what?
|
History.
There is reasons for sociology though, and I chose that as one of my interests. |
Date=Sucess.
I'm back in the groove. And the new J. Bond movie is actually pretty good, though it extends too much. |
Gimme details, nigga.
History.

I just dont understand how I would use that stuff out of college.
STEW GIVE ME DETAILS NOW (and again, great avatar). |
I just dont understand how I would use that stuff out of college.
STEW GIVE ME DETAILS NOW (and again, great avatar).
Well, the uses of a degree in history are thus: to have a degree to pursue further education such as law school, or to teach. Though if ou want any sort of money teaching history you'll still need an advanced degree. But nothing wrong with educating yourself for the sake of learning. that's why I might be in school for 3 graduate degrees hehe. |
Yes, nothing wrong with that.
I secretly kinda want to be a mail carrier. |
