Im going to focus it alot more on the last 5 years than the first four years. the reason being is thats almost everyone on here ignores anything after Damaged, its a **** shame.
Not true. Of course I prefer the stuff before Damaged. But they did have some good albums with some good songs. Others... well not so great. I still had the greatest amount of respect for them after Damaged though. Rollins is a tank.

albert_bass 07-24-2005 03:32 PM

Well, The Clash thread being closed, could someone answer my question about Cut The Crap? Is it an original album or some comp, B-sides or similar thingie?

sketchyjoe 07-24-2005 03:33 PM

It's a Clash album after Mick Jones was kicked out with a crappy 5-piece line-up. Strummer later disowned it. It's awful.

Supposdly its a regular album that the members of the clash decided was so crap it should be forgotten.

Shtein 07-24-2005 03:34 PM

Im not sure but I think its a B-side.

According to Audioscrobbler, I listened to 2147483647 songs by Career Suicide, The Filaments, DOA, Angelic Upstarts, Rancid and Marilyn's Vitamins this week....

cheeser_1 07-24-2005 05:21 PM

average song time: .00004693 seconds.

although, interestingly enough, 214-748-3647 is the phone number of some proctor & gamble high up or something (reference: http://www.skinfox.org/)
Weekly Charts error
Hey,
A bit of a strange happening here this week... No, you haven't all listened to your favourite tracks 2147483647 times... A small "hiccup" seems to have occurred in the generation of the charts, and so it's all gone a bit Pete Tong.
Have no fear, your single plays of those tracks you wanted to keep a secret will soon disappear again as the problem is being fixed, and the charts will be regenerated.
Posting about this other than in this official thread will result in very unhappy moderators, and you will be frowned upon, you have been warned ;)

In other news, I hear the new site is swimming along nicely, which is always good :)
Your ever loving moderator,

That sites always been a little kooky.

Brain Toad 07-24-2005 05:39 PM

It's because they started out really small and then boom got really popular and weren't prepared for it.

Shtein 07-24-2005 05:43 PM

I got a question and i know it belongs in DIY but ill post it here cause more people are posting here. Anxious Mo Fo explained the fabric paint stencil process of making a custom t-shirt. But can someone give me a step by step on what to do cause i dont want to fuck up what ill be working on.

Anxious 07-24-2005 05:55 PM

Basicly you find the stencil on the internet you want, and print it out on cardboard.
Or you draw it yourself onto some cardboard.

Then you cut it out like a stencil with an xacto knife, then centre it on the shirt, put the fabric paint in the stencil, making sure its is evenly distributed everywear.

then let it dry.

I reccomend you do it on an old ****ty shirt first.

Shtein 07-24-2005 06:07 PM

thanks, ill use and undershirt or an old soccer tee

so i dont need to paint inside the stencil with a brush?

Your avatar looks really bad on any other skin but blue green

Shtein 07-24-2005 06:11 PM

Id bet, please can somebody answer my question?

Anxious 07-24-2005 06:12 PM

You made me switch to blue green to see that? Bahh.

Shtein 07-24-2005 06:15 PM

Anxious 07-24-2005 06:19 PM

I dont know.

Brain Toad 07-24-2005 06:19 PM

Hmmm. R&M has Top 100 band polls, I'm thinking about doing that for punk, but I don't know.

Anxious 07-24-2005 06:20 PM

The album one did good. I dont see why the band one wouldn't do good. Even though an underserving band will win.

Brain Toad 07-24-2005 06:22 PM
so i dont need to paint inside the stencil with a brush?
Probably not, unless you need to touch up something.

Brain Toad 07-24-2005 06:23 PM
The album one did good. I dont see why the band one wouldn't do good. Even though an underserving band will win.
Yeah. I don't know if I should split it into genres. R&M has had a Classic Rock one, a Metal one, and a Modern Rock band.

Just doing punk would cover a LOT of bands, but there it is hard to split bands because of small genres and crossovers.

Shtein 07-24-2005 06:24 PM

ok, but I should use cardboard instead of bristol board?

Berserker! 07-24-2005 06:25 PM
Hmmm. R&M has Top 100 band polls, I'm thinking about doing that for punk, but I don't know.
Do it.

Will you include hardcore bands?

Anxious 07-24-2005 06:28 PM

If someone could split the polls up to no more than 5 genres I think it would work out good.

Anxious 07-24-2005 06:29 PM
ok, but I should use cardboard instead of bristol board?
What the hell is bristol board?

Shtein 07-24-2005 06:30 PM

what would be the 5 genres? Punk, Ska, Oi, Crust, Street Punk, Celtic, Anarcho...?

Shtein 07-24-2005 06:31 PM
What the hell is bristol board?
the harder type of paper, thats what its called here.

Brain Toad 07-24-2005 06:31 PM
Do it.

If I don't split anything, they will be included, if I do, new hardcore bands would be discluded (word?) such as Carry On, Champion etc

Shtein 07-24-2005 06:35 PM

what ever happened to punk of the month?

Brain Toad 07-24-2005 06:36 PM

I've got the format down I think.

Everyone will give their Top 15 bands. The Top 100 of those (counted by number of times they are said) will be put into 10 polls of 10. Then the top 3 from each of those polls will be up in 3 polls of ten, then the top 3 will be put together in the 9 band final poll. There will be tiebreaker polls as needed. After the final poll, it will be put in the top 100 order.
