Hello pop-punk. How's it going?

I'm off to see Red Sparowes, Daughters, and Versoma (members of Hot Cross/lickgoldensky/Orchid/Saetia/etc.) in like two hours.

Should be awesome.

cobert 08-20-2006 05:25 PM

FACT: Every emo band is just made up of members from other emo bands.

Mute Print 08-20-2006 05:25 PM

Hahaha, truth.

cobert 08-20-2006 05:27 PM

Seriously, Josh Jakubowski has somehow been involved with every emo band since 1999.

That would be a boring show to stand for...I think. Better listened to in a hall with seats imo...Red Sparowes is real atmospheric.

Yeah, Daughters is totally chill.

It feels a bit disrespectful to sit during shows. Unless its jazz or something weird.

Yeah, but Daughters is pretty chaotic, and the little I've heard from Versoma seems to be fairly energetic.

I've never seen a band at all like Red Sparowes before, so I don't know.

Jazz, Classical or Atmospheric music (Post-___) is all stuff I'd rather sit and listen to.

I saw Minus the Bear and that should have been a sitting show. It actually took away from it having to stand.

Mute Print 08-20-2006 05:36 PM

I might go see Minus the Bear in October.

I'm not sure yet, because the club I work at has a show that night, and I've been told that it will be the "biggest show the club has ever had", so I want to see what all the hype is about.

cobert 08-20-2006 05:38 PM

Well, some post-hardcore, at least. I dont imagine Glassjaw as a sitting show.

I do this weird thing when I stand to build ups or chiled out atmospheric music that makes me look like I have some sort of mental disability (whether im at a show or actually playing it myself) where I sway and wobble in a circular motion looking at the ground. I actually look retarded.
