Ugh, I was afraid you were going to say that.

Due to lack of a quick internet connection, I can't :(

I could probably do a song or 2, but not a whole album.

Sorry.

Wow, that was weird.

I googled the album, and found out it is a 2-CD and knew you were gonna say
"I was afraid you were going to say that"

Haha. Weird. It's ok though.
How come BJ wouldnt be classic rock?
I never considered them classic rock, I guess...kinda glam/hair metal.

blue3 07-12-2005 01:20 AM

Yeah I considered Bon Jovi as hair metal..

MBS 07-12-2005 01:22 AM

I just finished re-reading the "is it just me or does classic rock suck" thread.

It never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Where might I find said thread?

P3rSiAnP0wer 07-12-2005 01:35 AM

First off, 1.5k pages is freaking physco

Secondly....I been trying to get into classic rock but my problem is a lot of the classic rock I been listening to sounds too soft for me I just need something harder...but not too hard, I been D/Ling zeppelin songs like whole lotta love, kashmir, black dog,Dazed and confused..well those are the ones I like anyways..but as I downloaded more it started getting too soft for me.

Can anyone reccomend some classic ish that isnt too soft isnt too hard? Props

I'll get the link in a second, it's really funny.

It's back when me, Lunch, magicbus, basically all the Aug 04 regulars and up posted in a way that's just... not like us.

It's a hilarious thread, the threadstarter gets owned like mad.

Roy Orbison, Simon and Garfunkel, Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac. :)

Do you like Pink Floyd or The Who? Just to state the more obvious. I suppose some of Pink Floyd might be "too soft" depends on what you consider soft.

P3rSiAnP0wer 07-12-2005 01:54 AM

Never heard stuff from the who (yup im a ch00blet) but um I could never get into pink floyd either, some of their ish is hella sick like hey you, comfortably numb and others but I really couldnt get into them, and ya I guess I consider them too soft hah.. i normally listen to harder metal songs usually so if im feelin classic rock for the moment I wanna hear some stuff that isnt as hard as like metal and stuff but not soft acoustic songs or songs that are slow and stuff..like zeppelins Going back to california was weak sauce to me, I like acoustic songs but I didnt really feel that one,
peace

Goodnight.

Man, that was hilarious

thickasabrick 07-12-2005 01:59 AM

Yeah I love that thread, I remember reading through basically all of it before. Eighteen pages long I'm pretty sure it was. I'm not even sure if I posted in it, it might have been closed before I got to it. Maybe I wasn't even around then I dunno. I kinda felt sorry for the guy after about twelve pages or so.

edit- And most classic rock bands were pretty diverse when it came to their material, so even if a band is considered "harder" they usually had their fair share of softer songs too. Maybe Rush? I dunno. I mainly only listen to the mellow stuff.

P3rSiAnP0wer 07-12-2005 02:02 AM

^K, I I'll check out Rush and some of the bands u mentioned, thanks for help mayne

Glitterati 07-12-2005 02:22 AM

You might like Bob Dylan. Mostly acoustic, some slower stuff, some more rocking stuff.

P3rSiAnP0wer 07-12-2005 02:29 AM

:( Can't get into Zeppelin...I really like a few of their songs but most of them sound too similar to eachother...I'll try out some other bands mentioned..

Glitterati 07-12-2005 02:34 AM

I never really got into Zeppelin either. Anyway, try Bob Dylan, and Simon & Garfunkel. Two of my all-time favorites.

BludgeonySteve 07-12-2005 10:14 AM

That was a great thread. We owned him so badly.

MBS 07-12-2005 10:25 AM

I liked the fact that he was like "Keep sending hate mail" like he was trying to be Maddox or some bullshit rant-master internet god.

But he wasn't, he was some noob who just had terrible opinions and no proof to back it up.

Edit: Magicbus: We all were mean back then.

Yea, so was I. And very ignorant at some parts. But it was definitely fun.

try some mahavishnu orchestra. they were metal before metal. more classic fusion though.

song recommendations for the metal fan:
the noonward race
vital transformation
birds of fire
awakening
meeting of the spirits
open country joy

ATM 07-12-2005 10:49 AM

I just picked up a 3 Robin Trower albums, 2 Rush albums, and a Neil Young tape for free

I don't see how they do. What I like about zeppelin is their diversity. Maybe you haven't listened to enough of their songs.

PinkFreud 07-12-2005 10:52 AM

allman brothers tonight!
allman brothers tonight!
Awesome, man. I hear they rock live. I am going to see Tull in a few weeks.

Spam? What spam? Here in the Classic Rock thread, we avoid as much spam as possible.

*flashback to the AC/DC thing*

Except for that.

Edit:
allman brothers tonight!
Awesome man, uhh, I've got the countdown to Paul on my phone.

magicbus 07-12-2005 10:55 AM

Chris, what Robin Trower albums did you get? I have Bridge of Sighs, and I love it.

I probably don't need to say it again, but I feel the need to: Buddy Guy today :D

ATM 07-12-2005 10:59 AM

^Hell, I'd be excited too. Is it Buddy Guy alone, or does he have a harmonica player with him?

The albums are out in the car and Im too lazy to go grab them, but I'll post the titles later. They look pretty cool, though.

Lunch 07-12-2005 11:02 AM

Wow Malcom and Bus, you guys really had it out for that kid. Even I wasn't that mean to him.
