Anyone know of a Tab Editor that can import Midis? Preferably free. I want to convert my one of my tracks to tab, and Cakewalk does a piss poor job at tab translation.

i think its the best midi composition tool out there. everything has shortcuts and you can compose songs without having to play keys etc. Then the sounds dont matter cause you can just apply VSTi's to the midi file in a daw to get a pro sound for electronic music or whatever.

I use this old copy of Cakewalk that my brother had "aquired" years ago. Of course now I'm pretty avid anti-piracy, but since this program was obtained like 5 years ago, and its by far outdated (version 2, they're on 7 now). Its not really designed for Midi authoring, but it does Staff writing, which is the style I have always used and preferred (writing via keyboard sucks).

im all for piracy cause i make a lot of money and i enjoy spending it on something that lasts like hookers or ice cream.

maybe your timing was slightly off?

unless i understood you wrong. Did you record a track and you want GP to put it in tab, or did you make a midi track and want GP to tab it?
