7p7p is pwnage

DJTeeLay 11-19-2007 04:21 PM

I'd say nothing by All That Remains is above average.
There's some good stuff, but none of it is anything more than good.

Charizard 11-19-2007 04:32 PM

Actually their drumming is very good, and they write very good riffs and solos, and Phil Lebante is one of the most technical metal vocalists you can find... they're very above average, they're just very cheesy and generic.
Matt, shut up. In Silence and Solitude was ace; they just happened to get so much better that thier other releases made it look retarded.
That album just seems poorly written to me.
Besides, you're such a flake. I remember talking to you 2 years ago about how great ATR was, and that even thier first was incredible.
I got bored of them, but I still love This Darkened Heart.
Yeah, ATR sucks balls.
, what'd we say Justin?

how are they generic? who else do they sound like?

Invicta_Veritas 11-19-2007 11:00 PM

...and how are they cheesy? Generic maybe (that's a stretch), but not cheesy.

Charizard 11-19-2007 11:06 PM

AND I HEAR, THIS CALLING
STILL YOU DON'T FEEL SO FAR AT ALL

Or however it goes. So many of the clean singing parts are on par with Killswitch Engage cheese.

Tyler 11-19-2007 11:08 PM

hah I was about to post that. Total cornball.

Charizard 11-20-2007 12:13 AM

Yeah, it's so blatantly cheese.

On a side note, Light This City's first album is ballin. Melodic deathy metalcore.

Invicta_Veritas 11-20-2007 12:25 AM

Invicta_Veritas 11-20-2007 12:44 AM

I actually can't find that album now(thier first)....makes me mad...

Do you still have it, and can you u/l maybe?

Track 5 is the best song on that ftr.

Pete 11-20-2007 01:59 AM

if you're talking about LtC "The Hero Cycle", you really should take it to the melodic death thread.

All melodic death released in the 2000's isn't metalcore.

edit: also, she's a really good vocalist.

Charizard 11-20-2007 02:04 AM

The Hero Cycle has a lot of metalcore songs on it to be honest, it's like So Sedated, So Secure type stuff.

But yeah, I saw them last night, they basically just played stuff off of Remains Of The Gods and Facing The Thousand. Laura was real good, and they played Fear Of Heights and Obituary so I was happy.

Pete 11-20-2007 02:52 AM

i've listened through the hero cycle and remains of the gods since my last post, and i really dont see the hardcore influence

also i dont know what so sedated so secure is :(

Charizard 11-20-2007 03:06 AM

Listen to Picture: Start, Parisian Sun, Laid To Rest, and Sierra on The Hero Cycle, and I agree on Remains Of The Gods though.

RetiredAt21 11-20-2007 12:37 PM

Castle i believe. Its a place in a national park type area where this particular mountainside looks like a castle.

And I'm from Annapolis BTW.

Charizard 11-20-2007 03:32 PM

Yes, I totally didn't hear the joke, "I'd like a Dimmu Burger and a Cradle Of Fries," like four years ago.

Charizard 11-20-2007 03:32 PM
Light This City makes me want to puke.
how clever...

Charizard 11-20-2007 03:40 PM

You're possibly a bigger fag than rattlehead.

illpressureurhinges1 11-20-2007 03:45 PM

And you're just a douche, but whatever. All i did was say how clever and you took it up the butt. So who's the bigger fag here? I'm going to say you.

Charizard 11-20-2007 03:46 PM

It's fine to take it up the butt dude, just as long as your balls don't touch.

illpressureurhinges1 11-20-2007 03:48 PM

And you called me a fag...

Charizard 11-20-2007 03:50 PM

Dude, it's like kissing a dude, as long as your mouth is closed you're golden. You could kiss a guy's asshole and it would be straight, so long as there's no tongue.

illpressureurhinges1 11-20-2007 03:54 PM

Whatever dude. Can we please get back to music? I prefer not to be told what is and isn't considered gay by some douche.

Charizard 11-20-2007 03:56 PM

No dude, music's gay as hell. I mean, I guess you could talk about it if you wanna touch your balls to another dude's, like, whatever floats your boat bro.

HASTE THA DAY IS SICK BRO

illpressureurhinges1 11-20-2007 03:58 PM

and so As Citiez Burn bro...

Charizard 11-20-2007 04:00 PM

As Cities Burn doesn't belong in the metalcore thread, please stop derailing the conversation.

illpressureurhinges1 11-20-2007 04:01 PM

whatever dude. get over yourself. it would be for everyone's best interest.

Charizard 11-20-2007 04:02 PM
