deadohiosky9 11-12-2005 12:28 AM

probably, but either way it won't amount to how much you would pay for a brand new one.

whiteminority 11-12-2005 12:29 AM

just buy an old one. if it works your set, and if it doesnt your out $15 at most.

deadohiosky9 11-12-2005 12:30 AM

luckily my friend had a record player he never used, so i got that and didn't have to worry.

hah, good point.

I'll surf around ebay tomorrow. I'm too lazy right now. I'll go through the series of pawn shops out on main street sometime this week as well.

best idea.

Sep 11-12-2005 06:02 AM

I want a record player, badly. I think my uncle's bringing me one from Holland or something.

Wow 11-12-2005 06:04 AM

My record player is the best thing to ever happen to me.

Neeshee, this reminds me of Joey. He has more vinyl than anyone and no record player. This makes me laugh.

whiteminority 11-12-2005 09:22 AM

how many albums does he have?

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 11-12-2005 09:31 AM

I'm getting a record player for Christmas :)
vinyl sounds better than cds.
Not to be a dick, but that's toootal bull****.
It's your sound system (amp+speakers) that defines how good y our sound is. I like the warm feel of vinyl, clicks and pops, taking the record out of the sleeve and putting it on the player, but the sound is most definitely NOT better.

deadohiosky9 11-12-2005 02:28 PM

yeah i didn't think about that. i guess i jsut meant to say that i prefer vinyl over cds.

cbmartinez 11-12-2005 10:29 PM

You were just trying to sound cool. Save it for vlv.

Another episode of review whoring.

deadohiosky9 11-12-2005 10:42 PM

Silverstein aren't hardcore/emo. They don't belong in this forum.

Storm In A Teacup 11-12-2005 10:50 PM

Sorry, I typed in their name and this is the top thing that showed up.

deadohiosky9 11-12-2005 10:51 PM

ah. its cool.

quick_death 11-13-2005 11:28 AM

i just heard envy

cbmartinez 11-13-2005 02:08 PM

So many wasted years of your life.

Wow 11-13-2005 03:02 PM

icecreamxcore offered another record deal. What's this, three or four?

SubtleDagger 11-13-2005 03:58 PM

My friend found a copy of Hoover's full-length yesterday at a distro.

ADiB&W, pg.99, and Saetia albums were there too, but we were so broke.

Wow 11-13-2005 04:32 PM

Please tell me you picked up Hoover.

Special Brew 11-13-2005 04:34 PM
Does anyone know of any books, links, sites, or other forums that I could check out to learn EVERYTHING about the history of emo and screamo. Please don't say fourfa, because I hate taht site with a bloody passion.

I'm looking for anything that will help me learn, and I would rather it be as in-depth as possible. I know there are a couple books that have been published, but I don't know the names.

So, link me to this shizz!
In case someone didn't see it...

So far I have wiki, fourfa, that one awesome site, and this.

cbmartinez 11-13-2005 04:46 PM

That this youdon'tknowemo site has some good information but presents in an obnoxious and unprofessional way. That's why I like fourfa.

Special Brew 11-13-2005 08:14 PM

Fourfa bugs me, mainly because of the emo fashion section.

well i don't really know if it's noticable or not, but it's true that vinyl records record more audio frequencies than cd's or mp3's. i can't tell the difference but whatever i like both.

I'm pretty sure that was put there as a joke.

CD or Lp and was it The Lurid Traversal or the s/t?

They don't record, they transmit, but yeah they do. Humans can't hear the frequencies though

I sure hope so. They need to make that more evident, because whenever I link someone to that site, they always laugh because it's there.

It's hard to be taken seriously when I link peopel to such stupid crap.

Wow 11-14-2005 11:39 AM

Don't link them to Fourfa, then. It's not that good, anyway.

Oh come on, the fashion tips thing is pretty ****ing obviously meant in an ironic way dude.

Reading comprehension.

Special Brew 11-14-2005 12:17 PM

To people who don't know anything about emo, they will take it seriously. And to me obviously. :(

I just ignore it, because the rest of the site is decent, however unorganized.

SubtleDagger 11-14-2005 01:54 PM
CD or Lp and was it The Lurid Traversal or the s/t?
Lurid CD.

As far as I know, the s/t is nigh impossible to find.
Please tell me you picked up Hoover.
Of course. The other stuff is rather common at the distros we see.

tornpictures 11-14-2005 02:22 PM

Well the s/t (which is basically stuff they recorded four(?) years after splitting, contains about four or five songs I think) I saw in a record store about two years ago and it's probably still there. The CD that is.
Sooo if you realllly want it, hit me up and I'll check it out for you.

Saturday Supercade 11-14-2005 05:28 PM

Finding a copy of the Lurid traversal of rte 7 (cd-version) isn't very special..you can just order it at amazon..

SubtleDagger 11-14-2005 06:07 PM

We don't order albums online. That's for womens.

BuddyBigsby 11-15-2005 03:33 AM

Hey guys, this site has a couple emo/screamo shirts if anyone's interested. Angel Hair, Swing Kids, The VSS, and some real sweet Yaphet Kotto. They have some white belt/31G stuff if you're into that, as well.
