sup lod, recommend me some cool heavy songs/albums that have minimal screaming/growling/whatever (preferably none).

Modern Iconoclast 02-13-2010 12:56 PM

Katatonia's "Night is the New Day" is pretty good and there's no growling. But some of the songs aren't particularly heavy. Mastodon's "Crack the Skye" is ****ing epic too with minimal growliness.

AG 02-13-2010 02:43 PM

Sup lod.

How is everyone?

Left Face Down 02-13-2010 03:35 PM

Happy with my new PC, not happy with searching for a job. Spending most my spare time researching how to set up my home network the way I want, ripping my DVD collection (some where around 300 DVDs) to my computer so I can stream them through my Xbox360/PS3 from my computer using Tversity (awesome program), and playing Modern Warfare 2 with my friends on my 360.

... yeah that sums up my life as of late.

AG 02-13-2010 03:39 PM

I can't connect to IWNet, so atm I'm working through story mode on Veteran. Great game, story was too short imo. I'm unhappy with my PC, I would love to upgrade but money needs to go elsewhere. 3rd year Uni sucks.

Yeah, I know Mastodon, they're cool. I quite like Katatonia's "The Great Cold Distance" album, haven't checked out too much else of theirs.

jaklyons 02-13-2010 03:42 PM

If it's not on Spotify it doesn't count.

SugarCoatedSour 02-13-2010 03:43 PM

if you're on spotify you're limiting yourself. just google band, album, blogspot boombip

IWnet blows. I haven't played this game recently just cause the lack of dedicated servers finally started to get to me

Á Bao A Qu 02-14-2010 02:06 AM

MW:2's PC player base blows. 360 and PS3 have a way bigger/better community of players.

More trolls, too, but more people overall.

Left Face Down 02-14-2010 03:40 AM

New shit is nice once you get it set up. Mother got a new TV stand so she can put all her shit under it (TV box, Reciever, 400 CD-Player, my Xbox 360 and possibly my PS3). Gets rid of a like tower of electronics and puts them under the TV. That and it's one of those fancy ones which holds the TV up so it looks like it is floating.

Lot of friggin screws, wooden dowels, and crap... but totally rock solid and worth it. Tomorrow I'm going to have a real fun time putting all the electronics on it. Pretty much built it tonight (took some time). Also got a Wireless N+ router so I can have a hub in my bedroom instead of running 50 ft. Cat6 from downstairs to my room for fast internet. Faster streaming on my PS3 and faster wireless for my mother's new computer.

I <3 technology.

Blue_Moon 02-14-2010 03:48 AM

my wifi fixed itself

AG 02-14-2010 04:40 AM

I built a Media Center about 4 months ago and havn't looked back.

Now I have a box that'll do bluray, record up to 4 channels at once (scheduled up to two weeks in advance), has 750GB of storage, and connects to the internet. Just one box.

I want to set it up to be a media hub for all the other computers/laptops to stream unto, but I'm running w7eval edition and can't be bothered setting it up untill I install w7 proper.

I don't have £70 x 3 though, I wish you could install w7 on multiple computers.

The_Mop 02-14-2010 04:59 AM

Aight AG.

AG 02-14-2010 05:28 AM

Squirrel 02-14-2010 10:26 AM

sup Ag what you up to nowadays

AG 02-14-2010 10:59 AM

Nuthin much. I'm a chef nowadays at Yo! Sushi, in my last year of uni (which is crap) and planning kids next year with the wife.

jew?

Squirrel 02-14-2010 11:09 AM

wtf

youre married what?

why is uni crap? or is it crap that youre in your final year?

are you still at newcastle uni?

i'm a teacher yher

AG 02-14-2010 11:21 AM

Yeh, third year at Newcastle.

And I'm married now, yeh. Uni is crap because I've lost all interest. I'd be happy with a 3rd.

This is me on my wedding day, with the church's sheep.

Squirrel 02-14-2010 11:59 AM

why the **** would you get married so young

and why the **** would you want kids so early in a relationship and so young

AG 02-14-2010 12:01 PM

Kids young = 45 and im rich and free.

Married young cos err, she's in my life atm.

Squirrel 02-14-2010 12:23 PM

no kids young means at 45 free and broke

and youre never "free" from kids, theyre the biggest responsibility you'll EVER take on, so i've no idea why you'd want to do it so quick

weird

AG 02-14-2010 12:31 PM

Of course you're eventually free from kids. If you manage to fck up your kids upbringing so they depend on you forever, it's your fault.

Both my and my wife's mom and father are completely free to do whatever they want now, we see them socially, but in now way are they attached to us.

Anywhoos, kids are amazing, and a huge part of a relationship, imo. The main reason we want kids next year is that we can't wait to start a family.

Squirrel 02-14-2010 12:32 PM

so neither of you have careers to speak of then

AG 02-14-2010 12:41 PM

Not at all.

She finished uni with a 2-1 in English Lit and currently works for Sky in a call center. She applies for graduate jobs every day, but no success.

I'm working for Yo! and it's fine for the moment, but it's just a job. When I finish Uni I'll do whatever pays the bills. If I wanted a career I would have done medicine.

lol i have a five year old and they are NOT that big of a responsibility.

as long as you try to raise them right and treat them equal from a young age they turn out fine. also the kids they are around change them so you can't have brats in their class or in your house lol

people say things about kids and marriage but i feel that my job was always more complicated than my wife or my kid combined.
