dude go post in my thread about my terrible venture into all acoustic territory
|
Well, I can post in it, but I'm not sure what good it will do me.
|
In other news, I think I may have a lead singer complex, because I'm really wanting to be the bassist/lead vocalist in the band. Obviously I'm not going to step on any toes, but the more the band lets me write vocals parts, the more I feel that I need to be the prominent vocalist in the band.

I'm still in total amazement of this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOt-D_ee-JE&feature=related I saw it on TV the other day and was completely baffled.
A group in my physics class did the same thing. I don't remember what the outcome was, but my professor had calculated it and I believe she said it should only take 10 people to break the force of friction. Don't quote me on that, but I remember her criticizing MythBusters for the experiment. |
I don't know. There are a ton of people doing it on YouTube, which require more than human force to break it.
so idk |
If you notice also, when MB did it, it didn't even separate the phone books, but merely ripped it with the metal clamps. That tells me that it tuned sideways enough to rip it - which is easily done by just one person.
I'll have to email my prof. about it to see what she said. She rambled excessively, so I didn't really pay attention to her 80% of the time. |
My repair/setup guy just called me to tell me that my 8-string should be done today. I'll be so stoked if it is. I've been waiting to try this beast out in practice.
New Gary Goodman strings too - .174 low F#! I'll let you know how they sound and feel. |
Nice. It'll be great. I got my 'Ray back, active and killing again, and lowered action. Can't stop playing.

I've never had a bass professionally set up before (just my acoustic guitars, because I don't know the first thing about saddle filing). I'm pretty excited. He was confused about the tuning for a bit though. It already sounded pretty badass with the dead strings, bad action, and OBP-3. I bet the new strings and fresh setup completely eliminate my need for my Stingray or my Carvin. I may even consider playing it at a gig if I wind up in a jazz/fusion setting. Why wasn't your bass active for a while? |
The battery comparment broke. Ernie Ball sent a replacement for free, but once I saw the computerchip-looking electronics (:'(), I decided not to do it myself, and didn't take it to a place until a week ago.

I'm going to make an Orange Julius. Who wants one?
|
Me. Damn. That sounds delicious.
I may run over to OJ right now. |
Dude, don't do it. Want my recipe? Really easy and delicious.

6 oz. frozen orange juice
1 cup of water 1 cup of milk 1/2 cup of of sugar 1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract 10 (standard sized) ice cubes How much ice and how long you blend it really determines how well it turns out, but give it a go. Delish. |
Did you just experiment around until you found something that you liked or what?
I'm headed to OJ now. I might try that recipe with a bit of tequila and grenadine tonight to make a Tequila Sunrise Julius. |
Yeah, sort of.
And mix it with Triple sec. You can add like half a bottle and you'll barely notice it's there. lawl |
Here's the man with teeth like God's shoeshine
He sparkles, shimmers, shines Let's all have another Orange Julius Thick syrup, standing in lines The malls are the soon to be ghost towns Well, so long, farewell, goodbye |
Get the coooooool.
Get the cool shoeshine. |
