That sounds pretty cool, except that Paintball is not cool.

Btw, you can convert to a higher quality. What it does is replace the missing frequencies from an online database.
Um, wot?

No.
you can set it to whatever you want it to be d00d

And I know the data loss can't be reinstated other than through the original file duh.
You can but if you set it to soething higher than the original rip rate it will intrpolate which actually degrades the sound quality in some ways =|

Yeah but equal quality = less quality

lol @ land.
Um, wot?

No.
It's recent technology. Two college students developed a database of 320 kbps mp3 files of millions of songs so it could automatically look up the file you are converting and fill in the gaps.

let me find a link.

My universe has like 2500 students. It's solid.
Yeah but equal quality = less quality
Yes which is why it's always best to have direct rips from the source (ie why places like Oink require it, in fact).

Secondary rips will always be lower quality than the original in one way or another.

srsly

hey guys, lets all use the encoder with the strongest DRP so that people can't share the music!

ffs

Kage: That sounds awfully illegal to me...because splicing a file like you suggest would be extremely difficult so it's more likely they just d'l the file off tht server which is questionably legal really.

no, it's perfect. it gives the students a more personal and beneficial learning environment and the teachers more room to work with.

It's not a bad idea, though, I'm going to copywrite it. ;-D

Otisbum 08-29-2007 03:17 PM

My school has like 2400 people.

It was only made to fit 1800. :(
no, it's perfect. it gives the students a more personal and beneficial learning environment and the teachers more room to work with.
no it's ridiculous because unless everyone was at the same academic level you're basically holding everyone back to the level of the dumbest kid in a class.
It's not a bad idea, though, I'm going to copywrite it. ;-D
It sort of is. The RIAA has a pretty decent case that if you want to rip something at a higher rate you can use the original media that you should own and the only reason you can't encode at a higher rate is if it's pirated material.

Otisbum 08-29-2007 03:23 PM
no it's ridiculous because unless everyone was at the same academic level you're basically holding everyone back to the level of the dumbest kid in a class.
And if you don't get along with the other 59 kids, you're pretty much screwed.

You have to apply and be accepted, and that's a 100% false assumption.

Social factors aside unless the teacher:student ratio is like 8:1 (yes, i ordered that like i meant it) a school that small will probably have an inferior education system by comparison to a smaller one.

edit: you have to apply to ivies to get accepted and that doesn't make everyone there really smart there's a lot of politics in the education system.

TojesDolan 08-29-2007 03:26 PM

There's like 7,000 people in my university.

Lunch 08-29-2007 03:27 PM

there's like 25,000 undergrad at mine, no big deal

TojesDolan 08-29-2007 03:28 PM

That's solid.

Permanent Solution 08-29-2007 03:29 PM

50000 on our main campus here ^_^

Lunch 08-29-2007 03:30 PM

where the hell do you go to school

Permanent Solution 08-29-2007 03:34 PM

Arizona State University.

For all the campuses in the general Phoenix area we have about 63000 students

It has nothing to do with intelligence, it's an alternative learning style. There's five teachers. I learned more in a week there than I did in a conventional high school. There's zero busy work, it's discussion based, plenty of field trips. Frankly you're making unfounded assumptions and it's leading me to believe you willingly flaunt ignorance.

It's still mandated by the Toronto school board, so once again your "inferior education system" statement is absolute bullshit.

Lunch 08-29-2007 03:34 PM

yea that's what I thought, I didn't know it was so massive. UM is only around 35,000 total

masada 08-29-2007 03:35 PM

i'd like to go to a school like coke's
