It was far harder than I'd thought it'd be.

I'm dealing with depression, and she and I got into lots of arguments. It started making things really hard for me, and I did what I had to do.
It always is a lot harder. But y'know, if it wasn't working, you'll be better off in the long run.

Try and keep busy with your friends, that helped me, keeps your mind off it.

AlmightyPancake 10-26-2006 03:44 PM
Sorry to hear that. I'm just starting to get over a break up from August.

How long did you guys date?
8 months.

Polyamarous 10-26-2006 03:48 PM

I actually started smoking when I broke up with my girlfriend.

I don't advise this though.

This game will cheer anyone up.

Ahh.

Well, just think of all the ways it could be worse.

You could have been dating for a *really* long time, or she could have been cheating on you, or any other number of terrible scenarios.

It still sucks, though. My girlfriend left me after 4.5 years, didn't tell me why, and I found out later from a drunken friend that she had been sleeping with another guy and left me to date him.

And you're at university. There are plenty of good times to be had. :)

Unless you're ill, like me.

Or most of the girls you meet suck.

AlmightyPancake 10-26-2006 03:59 PM

Thanks. I know I'll work through it, and before long I'll be right again, but it's still hard.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation though. I can imagine what it must've been like...

Ha, sure you can. Confusion? Loss? Betrayal? Sadness? Yeah, you've probably felt these before, so you've got an idea. I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to elevate myself here. Shit happens, eh? :)

I had some good friends who took me out, got me tanked, and good times were had. Just try not to dwell too much on it.

BenJammin 10-26-2006 04:04 PM

In other news.

Wtf?

Like, seriously.

What.

The.

Fuck?

One Groovin Clown 10-26-2006 04:08 PM

I read that in the News and politics forum a little while ago.

The idea is rediculous. Lets try and spare the feelings of children by shielding them from any possible feeling of defeat. Then when they're older, shove 'em out into the real world.

LOLZ KIDZ, FACE THE WORLD!!! BECOME EMOTIONAL FRAGILE!!
At least we saved you from learning how to deal with it earlier. ROFL

Idiotic Parents

BenJammin 10-26-2006 04:11 PM

I think we should ban life.

One Groovin Clown 10-26-2006 04:12 PM

"SANTA MONICA — A Santa Monica elementary school has banned the game of tag, once synonymous with youth and innocence, because they say it creates self-esteem issues among weaker and slower children."

So these "fat" kids aren't going to face these issues when they get older?

Fucking Christ. Why not just ban lunch time while were at it?

Akira 10-26-2006 04:14 PM

It's so dumb. I always have been the unathletic kid, and I'm fine.
*goes to cut himself*

Seriously though, it's rediculous. I mean it's tag for god's sake. It's not even like dodgeball or something that can cause injury.

That's obviously the next step for FAGS

(Families against Games in the Schoolyard)

You think THAT's bad....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/suffolk/4724703.stm

That said, that move got blocked. The tag thing appears to have been passed.

We still have rep?

Jeez.

One Groovin Clown 10-26-2006 04:15 PM

Dodgeball's been banned too.

"The motion provoked criticism from media commentators and Education Secretary Ruth Kelly, who said it deserved "nought out of 10". "

Ruth Kelly is such a joker.

One Groovin Clown 10-26-2006 04:17 PM

Yea we still have rep.

Oh wow. I hate the term politically Correct. Let's change titles so it's less demeaning.

Like Janitor to Custodian.

It doesn't make a difference, still means the bloody same thing.

Good lord.

"Don't worry, Jimmy. F doesn't mean Fail. It means Deferred Success."

Then we have a whole new problem of spelling issues.

Wintermute 10-26-2006 04:17 PM

Deferred success is ungood.

You can't call it politically correct anymore.

The term is now "politically unwrong".

One Groovin Clown 10-26-2006 04:18 PM
Deferred success is non-superb.
Much better.

Wintermute 10-26-2006 04:19 PM

The point of newspeak is to eliminate negative words. So 'ungood' replaces 'bad'.

In fact, politically 'incorrect' is in a sense using newspeak to avoid saying 'offensive', or even just politically 'wrong'.
Much better.
I prefer the Orwellian reference. :p
