Arch Enemy (Gothenburg Metal)
At The Gates (Good Gothenburg)
Atrocity (band that changes its style all the time)
Beyond Shadows
Callenish Circle
Carcass (Good Melodic death)
Ceremonial Oath (old Gothenburg)
Dark Tranquillity (Good Gothenburg metal)
Darkane (isn't it Thrash/Death metal?! I would say neo-thrash that reminds me of gothenburg)
Dimension Zero (same as above)
Edge of Sanity (Melodc Death)
Entombed
Eternal Tears of Sorrow
Exhalted
Hypocrisy (Death metal, you could say they're melodic though)
In Flames (Gothenburg Metal, later works give a bad name to the scene)
Insomnium
Kalmah (sound like CoB)
Mercenary
Mors Principium Est
Nightrage (Gothenburg Metal)
Norther (sound like CoB)
Noumena
Omnium Gatherum
Opeth (progressive death metal, I would say extreme progressive metal)
Sentenced (gothic metal)
Soilwork (Gothenburg Metal)
SuidAkrA (Folk Death Metal?)

I'm fucking sick of people treating Gothenburg as seperate to Melodic Death.

It's like treating Bay-Area thrash as something different to Thrash, when it shouldn't be.

I treat gothenburg as being a form of melodic death metal and I dont see anything wrong with it

Apocalyptic Raids 02-08-2006 05:55 AM

Yeah that's ok, but I get annoyed when people call it 'Gothenburg Metal'. I would rather people just called it all Melodic Death though, since it seems some people just so that other people don't associate In Flames and the like with their precious "real" melodic death.

I still <3 you though orestes :P

Bartender 02-08-2006 05:56 AM

It's a handy little distinction, but that's about it.

Anyway, Arghoslent all the way.
