Thanks for your welcome and just for the record ''Nice to be on board''

IheartSP 08-28-2005 05:37 PM

Ohh nice to see another fan! I hated them when I first heard them, I didn't know what harsh vocals even were. I don't think there is a bad song off of Something Wild, Hatebreeder (my favorite) or Follow the Reaper. HCDR is questionable. I like it a lot but it is a lot different than the other three. It has more of an American feel to the music, it's less Scandinavian sounding. The lyrics are a lot more like punk because they have an F you attitude. The new album soon to come out Are You Dead Yet? is going in this direction but sounds even more American. I've yet to say I like it, it's not really powermetal at all. I think the title track is okay but it doesn't compare at all to old Bodom, at least not for a powermetal fan like me.

Shadows 08-28-2005 05:39 PM

^^^ That's pretty much exactly how I feel. I like the new stuff just as much though. :)
Thanks for your welcome and just for the record ''Nice to be on board''
 Grammar competition? I'm pretty sure what I said was correct.

flamesofbodom 08-28-2005 05:40 PM

I think Hatebreeder is my fav. too

billsfan257 08-28-2005 05:40 PM

I actually like their new stuff, and my least favorite album is hatebreeder, my favorite is Follow the Reaper. And I didn't like them at first either but they definately grow on you.

Try not to double post. The mods hate it

Shadows 08-28-2005 05:45 PM

Yeah. If you come up with multiple things to say like that, just edit them all into one post. We don't mind so much here, but the mods are likely to get pissed off by it somewhere else.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 05:49 PM

Your favorite is FTR and least favorite is HB? That is really weird cause those two are way more similar than any other 2.

billsfan257 08-28-2005 06:00 PM

Yea, I dont know, Hatebreeder just hasnt grown on me the same way all the others have.

flamesofbodom 08-28-2005 06:02 PM

HB is the most emotional in the instruments as far as i can tell, and thats why i love it so much

IheartSP 08-28-2005 06:09 PM

Yeah I think HB is just plain the most well written. I think that FTR has some better songs, but overall doesn't end up as good. Kissing the Shadows and Hate Me! are 2 of the my 3 favorite songs, yet I still rate HB higher just for its overall quality. It is definately the most powermetal of all their albums, and focuses the most on lead guitar.

FlyingPaul_83 08-28-2005 06:10 PM

HB is my fave, then FTR. Hatebreeder I just love the instruments, so incredible.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 06:10 PM

I'd think most FF fans would rate HB the highest.

Shadows 08-28-2005 06:12 PM

I think Follow the Reaper focuses just as much on lead guitar. It always seemed to be the most power metal to me.

FlyingPaul_83 08-28-2005 06:13 PM
I'd think most FF fans would rate HB the highest.
:p

Hatecrew and wild are also great, but HB has some of the coolest things I've ever heard on a guitar.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 06:15 PM

As an FF fan I think songs liek Towards Dead End are really cool, it has that same kind of fantasy feel.

billsfan257 08-28-2005 06:16 PM

I think Follow the Reaper focuses on Keyboards more than anything

Shadows 08-28-2005 06:16 PM
As an FF fan I think songs liek Towards Dead End are really cool, it has that same kind of fantasy feel.
I love FF as well. I never thought Bodom would be good FF music though. Cradle of Filth (select instrumentals) maybe.

IheartSP 08-28-2005 06:19 PM

Well Nubuo makes some music that could easily be turned into powermetal. I really like his stuff and it really fits the games well. I see powermetal as a pretty close link to FF music.

Shadows 08-28-2005 06:19 PM

I guess. FF games are fuucking amazing, as is CoB. That's a good enough link for me. :)

I cried when I first heard like the last minute of that song, pure brilliance.

billsfan257 08-28-2005 06:22 PM

The end of Towards Dead End kind of sounds like a Warmen song, they definately emphisized the keyboards, just as Warmen does.

Shadows 08-28-2005 06:23 PM

Warmen is amazing. Janne is better at keyboards than God himself.

billsfan257 08-28-2005 06:24 PM
Warmen is amazing. Janne is better at keyboards than God himself.
Lol, I wouldn't be surprised if he was. He was voted the best keyboardist ever at age 21!!! Thats just insane
