White Riot! 06-22-2005 08:03 AM

Capitial Radio One is a very political song

Aeaon 06-22-2005 11:59 AM
does anyone have the cd of clash's Cut the crap? whats your opinion of it? My friend has it he says it isn't good
I hear it's pretty bad. Joe Strummer didn't even consider it to be called a Clash album.

white_riot 06-22-2005 03:15 PM

The Clash had many political songs and very good songs may I add, that taught me alot of things and made me a far more knowledgeable and better person at that.

guns_of_brixton 06-22-2005 08:19 PM

The US version doesn't flow very well at all. It should end with Complete Control.

The most political Clash song is either The Magnificent Seven or Clampdown. There are probably others that I'm forgetting or aren't as good.

CombatRock 06-23-2005 12:32 AM

yesssssss im back. did yall miss me?

on my "camping trip" i discoverd i love Streetcore. i like evey single song on it.

guns_of_brixton 06-23-2005 09:49 AM

We missed you :chug:. I felt like using that smiley. It doesn't get used enough.

I finally bothered to learn Career Opportunities on guitar. I reccomend everyone who owns a guitar to learn it because its really easy and fun.

Glitterati 06-23-2005 12:34 PM

I want to learn "Tommy Gun."

white_riot 06-23-2005 01:02 PM

Awesome, I have always wanted to learn Tommy Gun. I'm not very good but I'll check out Career Opportunities and try to play it.

I just bought that album a few days ago. That album is reaaaly good.

guns_of_brixton 06-23-2005 04:19 PM
I want to learn "Tommy Gun."
Fairly easy as well.
I want to learn "Tommy Gun."
I can pretty much play any Clash song I set my mind on. But then again I'm a drummer and thier a punk band, so it's not very hard. Especially Clampdown.

Garageland is the perfect finisher to their s/t.

That's one of the few things the US got right with the track order.

it's too good. I can't believe it was Joe's last album ever. It's sad...It's so great that for a while I was listening to Streetcore everyday and it was pretty much the only music I could stand...but the sad thing is that I got sick of it after 2 or 3 weeks. Global is a great cd too

I would've liked it to end with Complete Control, but I still like Garageland.

I hate how the US one starts with Clash City Rockers.

sketchyjoe 06-23-2005 08:18 PM

Janie Jones is a much better opener.

guns_of_brixton 06-23-2005 08:23 PM

Yea, it is.

And I was just listening to that album and I decided that G arageland is a much better finisher.

CombatRock 06-23-2005 10:37 PM

Train in Vain is not a good finisher either.

Daniel! 06-23-2005 10:45 PM
Train in Vain is not a good finisher either.
Ya, I always thought that too. But I can't think of the album ending with anything else.

CombatRock 06-23-2005 10:51 PM

Silver and Gold is the perfect ending to Joes live, and a good ending to the album.

white_riot 06-24-2005 03:04 PM
Train in Vain is not a good finisher either.
I think Train in Vain is a great finisher to London Calling. What other song could finish it.

Glitterati 06-24-2005 03:05 PM

Yeah, that's a good song.

np: Safe European Home

white_riot 06-24-2005 03:12 PM

Thats a good opening song to Give Em Enough Rope. And All the Young Punks is a good finish.

CombatRock 06-24-2005 03:54 PM

London Calling is a perfect beginning but. the song gets old after a while.

Brain Toad 06-24-2005 04:13 PM
Janie Jones is a much better opener.
I've said this before.

Janie Jones was the first Clash song I pretty much heard (besides the hits) and it made me like them. Then I went out and bought the album.

Brain Toad 06-24-2005 06:12 PM

Anyone ever listen to This is Rockabilly Clash? I'm listening to the cover of Guns of Brixton and it is pretty good.

sketchyjoe 06-24-2005 06:20 PM

That's a pretty good album.

guns_of_brixton 06-24-2005 09:28 PM

I read some review thing of GEER and the person said that the order of the songs on the album was perfect.

And does anyone have This is Rockabilly Clash on slsk?

AGAINSTME!'sbass 06-24-2005 09:30 PM

Dude
It was good. no one can describe Joe Strummer in something that short. You did a better job than i could.

RIP JOE
