21'' dry heavy sig ride, 24'' 2oo2 ride(may not be like as pingy as u want, but it's just such a perfect ride

thanx. i listened to the dry heavy sig ride and fell in love.:chug:

Icky_Mettle 05-28-2006 05:26 PM

Alright....getting a crash very soon! Should have the money to get anything other than a paiste in about a week or two. I'm thinking 17'', and here are some of the qualities I'm looking for:

Pretty dark
pretty washy
relatively open
loud enough for rock/funk
versatile

Some that I've got my eye on
Istanbul Agop dark crash
Istanbul Agop sultan
Sabian AA med. thin
UFIP in local shop

some more suggestions would be awesome....

Inkstar 05-28-2006 08:07 PM

Would it be possible for someone to briefly explain the qualities of cymbals? Such as washy, etc. Never really known too much about them.

Zildjian 05-28-2006 08:52 PM

Has anybody have any experience with a K Custom Session crashes?? How did you like them??

We_Love_Lime 05-28-2006 09:02 PM

I don't know.

Try out some Meinl Byzances?

Just a thought.

**** I don't know.

Icky_Mettle 05-28-2006 11:48 PM

yeah....the byzances are sweet, I forgot to mention that I kinda liked the one I tried out in the store the other day. I'll look into it a little further.

Quinto 05-29-2006 08:20 AM

im looking for a pair of either sabian aa or aax hi-hats that are very sizzly and have are sort of dark.

im trying to find something similar to k custom session hats but i dont want to pay over 200 dollars, and im just looking for an open sound like theirs

edit:also do you think fusion hats are for metal, b/c someone said it on musicians friend reviews said so, but i didnt think so, but im not sure, so could you give me ur opinion

Drum Phil 05-29-2006 10:22 AM

Jesus man, if i said Z Customs are for jazz, would you beleive me?

Use them how you see fit.

Quinto 05-29-2006 10:42 AM

rborghino 05-29-2006 12:48 PM

Hey man just a small question - is getting an 18" 2002 full crash worth it? - since i had cracked a 16" 2002 regular crash really easily. (these are all paiste)OR maybe should i just get myself eithr a 18" 2002 medium crash or a 17" 2002 rock crash?

rborghino 05-29-2006 12:48 PM

its sounds really weird when i read it again

Icky_Mettle 05-29-2006 01:29 PM

17 paiste sig full crash :]

I really like the dark energy crash, but I dunno if I really wanna pay that much more for it...oh well.

If you cracked a 2002 real easily, spend that money on a teacher instead.

I wish I could afford a 2002, because I won't break them.

I'm pretty sure the hats would be good, because I am a fan of that A/AA/2002 sound more then anything else.

But i'm too poor to afford Paiste, but I want at least one 2002 in my lineup, so it will be a crash.

ebay some of the ones you're looking for...I dunno if it's a good idea to like a set of hats because they're a cheaper version of the ones you really love.

man what are you talking about i NEVER break any cymbals except for that one that started cracking really soon. I have a paiste 101 and two sabian b8's in my set and theyve held up well maybe it was like a factory mistake or something and you didnt even answer the question i asked. you freak out too fast man, chill out.:chug:

aznriceball 05-31-2006 01:38 PM

you're going to hate me for this..but i just got back from a weekend camp gig where i was the drum tech/sound tech and i'm going to say...

16" S series wuhan crash. believe it or not, but that thing was piercy, and cut through the bass just enough :)

Icky_Mettle 05-31-2006 02:29 PM

Believe me, I'm trying the S Series if they stock it at guitarcenter...I just don't wanna buy a wuhan without ever hearing it.

Icky_Mettle 05-31-2006 06:19 PM

OH GOD...I think I'm in love, and the victim costs $217 :[

Paiste signature reflector 17'' full crash

wow...this thing is absolutely dreamy! A little darker than the trad finish I tried, EXACTLY what I was looking for...matches up great with my ride. The thing is...am I good enough to get it? I don't want this breaking on me!
