I just watched Yellow Submarine and it was great...it was funny...the blue meanie leader was cool, and the songs were great!
For a second there I thought you were asking if anyone had been personally introduced to the Beatles by there parents, like "Hey hids, I want you to meet someone"

I found Sgt. Peppers, Disc 1 of the White album, Abbey Road and much later Disc 2 and Let It Be in my parent's collections, so I guess so
My dad would always put in the beatles one car rides and such, I have always liked them but not until recently have I satarted to get into their music. My dad wons let it be and some greatest hits records that I 'borrowed' from him.

Let it be is a song I grew up on

robo2448 08-11-2005 07:36 PM

My parents played 1 and With the Beatles in car rides. After they played 1, I went out and bought Rubber Soul, and that's when I started buying all of their albums.

Walrus Gumboot 08-11-2005 07:56 PM

I found Sgt. Peppers in my dad's room, thought "heh I liked this when I was little, what the hell" and so I put it in my CD player and left it on so I could clean my room, and then I thought it meritted my listening to it again, so I put it in my CD player and listend to it in school, and then on the bus, for like a month straight until I found the white album and over-listened to that, then I found Magical Mystery Tour (It was <3<3) found Revolver later, got someone to burn me Rubber Soul and 1, found Disc 2 of the white album, Found Let It be, my neighbor had Please Please Me and A Har Day's Night, Found Abbey Road in some woman's car, got Beatles For Sale for Christmas, and my Sister bought With the Beatles and Help! and Yellow Submarine. I do believe we have all of them all...

I remeber the first time I listened to every single one

Flaminghotchino 08-11-2005 08:51 PM

I was raised with Sgt. Peppers it still remains my fav.

I got some beatles anthology or something and my friend burned me 1.

I've always loved them but didnt start getting their albums until I was like 13 or 14.

DeusExMachina 08-11-2005 08:56 PM

I listened to The Beatles from kindergarten to about 6th grade, then got crappy music taste, then started listening to good music again.

rockinbass17 08-11-2005 09:05 PM

I remember afew years ago, when 1 came out, everyone started listening to The Beatles, but for some reason we only listened to the first five or so tracks and never heard any later stuff, which is of course much better. I only started listening to their really good material about a year ago.

Flaminghotchino 08-11-2005 09:19 PM

"The Beatles were good until they went all nuts in India"

haha.
"The Beatles were good until they went all nuts in India"

Who said that? It's funny how wrong it is.

Flaminghotchino 08-12-2005 09:26 AM
Who said that? It's funny how wrong it is.
It's from an episode of King of the Hill, I agree its VERY wrong, but I couldn't help but laugh.

I'm just imagining the beatles going to india, and their like "Hey guys we're in india..NO PARENTS!!! WOOO!!!" and they start dancing and going crazy.

lmao.

Once you type it out it doesn't seem as funny...oh well I still got the mental image.

DeusExMachina 08-12-2005 09:31 AM

Hahaha. That is a kind of funny mental image. So is them getting totally wasted on exotic indian drugs.

That should be in an episode of family guy.

Yeah, that happened to me in 7th grade :upset:

Middle School=Suckage

I could say that the Beatles were single-handedly responsible for pulling me out of it, though

At least I never had a Titanic phase like my little sister

Same thing happened with me. Rubber Soul, Revolver, and especially Sgt. Pepper's along with Tommy by The Who pulled me out my crappy music phase.

I really didn't like Tommy the first time I heard it a few years ago, but I listened to it again last night and love it. I guess nobody gets high their first time :p

DeusExMachina 08-12-2005 03:14 PM

Tommy is amazing, probably my favorite album by The Who.

I didn't like it the first time I heard it either. But then I listened to it again, got the concept and thought the whole album was genius.

To make this Beatles related, All Things Must Pass by George Harrison really pwns.

Adore 08-12-2005 03:37 PM

The usual story with me as well. I've been listening to The Beatles as long as I can remember, thanks to my parents who were young of that era.

Lennon is my favourite solo...Followed by Paul, whose tour I saw live last year.

Flaminghotchino 08-12-2005 04:23 PM

I hate paul.

HATE.

Walrus Gumboot 08-12-2005 04:31 PM
I hate paul.

HATE.
But all you need is love?

Lunch 08-12-2005 04:45 PM

Oh good, I wondered in on some Tommy talk.

George is my favorite solo Beatle.

robo2448 08-12-2005 04:47 PM

I love all of them, but John or George is my favorite. Everyone seems to like Ringo and George, but a lot of people seem to either love or hate John and Paul.

Walrus Gumboot 08-12-2005 04:48 PM

/sick of favorite Beatle talk

I much prefer the favorite 5th Beatle talk

Wouldn't it be cool to be Dani Harrison and have an Uncle Clapton?

Dhani Harrison's cool. Such a cool name too.

The Clash 08-12-2005 05:55 PM

why hate Paul? Hes had the best solo career of them all

Klander Brigade 08-12-2005 06:04 PM

When I was like 7 or 8 they were my favorite band, had a bunch of their cds, knew all the songs and everything. That only lasted a few years though.

The Clash 08-12-2005 07:47 PM

Ive came on to the beatles in the past 3 months and ive always heard people say that they are the best band of all time and i never really cared for that too much. But after getting into them and learning about them, I do have to admidt that I think there the best band ever and there not my favortite, but they got the stats to say there the best ever.

Krabsworth 08-12-2005 07:52 PM

I had every Beatles album by the end of 6th grade.
