I'm here, and far from asleep. I'm on a Jesu kick.
Jesu brings me in a sleep like state.
But in a good, hypnothic like state.
I love that feeling.
I'm getting some work done before I go home to meet my sister's boyfriend.
Make a good first impression.
Be very rude, like:
"Son, Respect my sister, or you will learn to repsect my fists.:smoke::cool:'

Then he knows the drill.

Ashes 02-02-2008 03:50 PM

I'm here and not asleep, I'm just multitasking...and there's not a lot of good discussion to be had here today...

Exactly. They have the strongest emotional pull of any band I've ever listened to... by far. It's inescapable too, the mood engulfs you in the thick atmosphere. I love it.

EDIT: god you are lame, vince. :p

That also explains my love for ambient drone like Nadja and The Angelic Process.
And well, a lot of drone and funeral doom takes me away.
It's just amazing.

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 03:55 PM

Hmmmm... maybe that's why Nadja isn't clicking with me yet. I think I'll start listening to them in the same state of mind that I listen to Jesu in.

Ashes 02-02-2008 03:57 PM

I could never get into drone/doom of any kind. Well, unless you count early November's Doom (death/doom). I haven't really heard a whole lot of this "drone" thing though...is it like a kind of doom or what?

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 03:57 PM

Drone is exactly what it sounds like... droning. You would hate it.

one day when you go to school full time and work two jobs you too will understand :(

actually hopefully you'll never do that :p

ATM 02-02-2008 03:59 PM

I can't see you liking drone much.

Petey:

I plan to introduce myself nicely, then take him aside and tell him that if he hurts my sister, I'll **** up his face.

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 03:59 PM

Vince, I will never ever do that. I promise.

It's not really doom like in the traditional sense.
But it has a doomy, gloomy atmopshere.
Lots of repetition and trance inducing riffs.

I love it.

np: Nadja - Mutagen

That's the way.
Keep your cigar cutter at hand. :p

Bordello 02-02-2008 04:31 PM

drone is really nice to sleep to

I'll take your word for it :)

Tyler 02-02-2008 05:04 PM

Anyone else remember when everyone on here liked Dragonforce (ie: before they got popular) and their drummer used to post in the Dragonforce thread?

Times have changed.

Kage 02-02-2008 05:04 PM

I never liked them.

Tyler 02-02-2008 05:05 PM

You know what I mean.

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 05:06 PM

I used to like DragonForce :D

Hey guys, if I were to start listening to Radiohead, which album would I start with?

Kage 02-02-2008 05:06 PM

I told you already, Ok Computer.

Bordello 02-02-2008 05:08 PM

don't start listening to radiohead

You could just start with Pablo Honey and you'll get to see the reduculous amount of progression they've made.

Monticello 02-02-2008 05:12 PM
don't start listening to radiohead
why not?
Radiohead are good. OK Computer's best.

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 05:12 PM

Well I heard the song Creep on Rock Band and that was cool.

I'm d/ling OK Computer right now.

Txus 02-02-2008 05:13 PM

Poet 02-02-2008 05:22 PM

I still like Dragonforce even two years later :(

Tyler 02-02-2008 05:23 PM

My point was that the drummer used to post here and now I can only imagine what'd happen if he came back, ha.

Yeah, I read in my room or sitting in my living room.

He's actually a very good drummer.

NemesisDivina 02-02-2008 05:25 PM

You fly... or rather float... drift
through an enormous dark room
a room of noises!
endless. shimmering. glissandi.
crackling pizzicato
coal black turbulence holes of bass drones
but otherwise empty
no planets, no meteori-hites
if anything... perhaps fine dust clouds of exploded MUSIIIIC
you float there, somewhere between pleasure and fear
