i tried one out a while ago and i loved the tone, but i really didnt like the feel of it, and i think they are a bit overpriced, but they are still good basses.

I always looked at dream theater as p o r n for musicians. I really never got into them much..

I could never get into Dream Theater either. Too pretentious and too much "showoff factor" IMO. Now Tool, there's a great band. Mainly because there's fewer solos and because of Danny and Justin.

yeah i think that about quite a few of dream theater's songs are very showy offy, but i dont think that about 'the glass prison' or 'dance of eternity' i just think they are amazing songs!

yeah tool are just amazing and clever.

i like dream theater more for their music than for their "flashyness". And yes, petrucci and rudess are sometimes horribly flashy, but i can accpet that. Thats just dream theater, and many people love them because of that. But I mean thats alright. Some people appreciate that, some dont.

Personally like them so much because of their songs. They manage to write stuff that other bands could just dream of. Whilst other bands are happy and glad that their songs have 50% Chorus and a decent Verses etc DT does some really creative, long and vivid songs which just seem to be oozing out of them with ease.

Of coarse you cant argue about taste, but I just wanted to say that I find that they are able to balance their "flashyness" with, in my opinion, really good and unique songwriting. Thats why I like them so much.

I like Dream Theater, but as everything on earth, they are good for certain moments.

Yep, you can't argue taste. I just never liked them, but they are defiantly talented, and write some complex stuff.

IMO U2 is the best band out there at the moment.......they are still trying to say something, and their music is just so enjoyable, and Adam CLayton is an awesome bass player.

I've seen Modest Mouse play live lots of times in my ol' hometown. It's kinda weird hearing them on all the Clear Channel stations. I guess there are other Seattle locals I like better, like Vendetta Red and Pretty Girls Make Graves
