Actually I'm pretty sure my mates' guitar teacher would have no contest as the best guitarist in the city.

RockAndRoll 07-11-2005 12:42 AM
they are better than gadd, and drums are expensive, but last long ;)

(guitar strings, amplifiers, cords, picks, pedals, tuners, etc.)
 no they're not.

and for the record

(heads, sticks, cymbals, snares, mics, stands, cases, tuners, drum pads, various sets for various styles, etc.)

Brewer14 07-11-2005 12:42 AM

Ive always wanted a drum set but theres no room in my house :(

I should probably worry about getting good at guitar..

Maybe I will ask what he thinks. And I think you're wrong about there always being a better one.

It is a never ending thing. there is some guy that noone knows about that stays in his house all the time and plays and doesnt even go outside. then he knows a better guitarist.
It is a never ending thing. there is some guy that noone knows about that stays in his house all the time and plays and doesnt even go outside. then he knows a better guitarist.
it defies logic for there always to be someone better. There are a finite number of musicians, there can't be an infinite number of better ones.

brettberry 07-11-2005 12:54 AM

what I am saying is there is ALWAYS someone to bring you down. I have been playing guitar over 10 years now and I met a guy today that has been playing for 8 mos. and is already better than me.

Against Miik! 07-11-2005 12:54 AM

Taj Mahal...listen to

brettberry 07-11-2005 12:55 AM

Did you guys listen to my music on my website?

JonG 07-11-2005 12:58 AM

I'm into No Doy right now. Good album.

Quit talking about other things than Classic Rock.

Okay.

And what I'm saying is there isn't always someone better than you. It's just that there's only 1 best and there are millions upon millions who aren't so it seems like you can never be the best. ANd no I haven't listened yet, I'm going to bed soon.

Quit telling me what to talk about. This is good discussion.

Okay.

brettberry 07-11-2005 01:01 AM

Listen to it before you go to bed please. I would like some feedback for it. If you dont mind.

and you are right i did carry that on about someoone being better too much but I am pissed about that guy I met today.

blue3 07-11-2005 01:03 AM
Do you have a set?
No.. I'd like to have one though.

RockAndRoll 07-11-2005 01:04 AM

Okay. The piano and strings are good. The drums and guitar aren't my style though. I'm not a very metal kind of guy. It was rather short but there's nothing wrong with that.

brettberry 07-11-2005 01:05 AM
No.. I'd like to have one though.
So I guess that is the only thing holding you back, right?

Not now. I'm off. Bye.
So I guess that is the only thing holding you back, right?
Yeah. Drums are expensive though. I play my friends drum set whenever we have band practices..

shop around. look for used sets in good condition. i got mine, yamaha stage custom, for 500 bucks with hardware. it was a g reat deal and its a great set.

brettberry 07-11-2005 01:21 AM

I got a Pearl 7 piece for 60 bucks at a flea market. its pretty awesome except it needs new heads.

if you bought it at a flea market then chances are, it does.

Believe it or not, thats all it needs, and then its a perfect set, I would use it live if it wasnt so small.

jamsomecephalic! 07-11-2005 01:33 AM

either that or buy one one piece at a time, go to pawn shops, last week me and my buddy patches were at a pawnshop and there was a nice steel snare there for 10 bucks

Glitterati 07-11-2005 01:34 AM

So I found out a friend of my dad's has a record player he wants to give away, and he said I could have it. We're going to go over to his house sometime soon and pick it up. Turns out he has a huge stash of records he can give me too

When I find out what they are, I'll report back.

brettberry 07-11-2005 01:35 AM

One word. EBAY!!!

No Doy is not Classic Rock.

And if all we talked about was Classic Rock, this place would be boring.
