No man. It's all good. By the way which two songs are they?

"High Tide Or Low Tide" is my favourite song off of Catch a Fire.

My Marley collection-
Natty Dread
Catch a Fire
Exodus
Songs of Freedom Boxset
Legend(I know, I know. I bought it along time ago when I was a n00b)
"Them Belly Full"
"Lively Up Yourself"

My favorite off of Catch a Fire is "Baby We've Got a Date"

Glitterati 11-21-2005 08:55 PM

I'm liking this Woody Guthrie.

TheDMV 11-21-2005 09:12 PM

I only have legend but i hope to pick up some more Marley over xmas. It's just feel good music and i need more upbeat stuff. the carribean sound appeals to me and i feel i need more diversity there, especially ska.

I have been abusing 1st person pronouns today haven't I

PinkFreud 11-21-2005 09:23 PM

the only thing i asked for for christmas was the mortal kombat movie. the first one. because im weird.

robo2448 11-21-2005 09:26 PM

My mom* bought the Born to Run 30th Anniversary Edition cd today.

*It will probably pretty much be mine

The Live performance on the DVD is awesome, I watched that this afternoon.

I'm finally doing my write-up on George for the anniversary of his death that I have been planning on doing for a while.

I'm not sure what I'm getting for Christmas/my birthday. I might be getting the special edition of The Big Lebowski, but I'm not holding my breath.

blue3 11-21-2005 09:40 PM

I'm not sure what I'm getting either. Usually by now I'd be finished my list or something.
I love classic rock, particularily the 70-80s metal era.
'80s metal (Like GnR) is not really considered classic rock.

Only thing? That's interesting.

Awesome interview with George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, and Tom Petty about the Traveling Wilburies I found: http://www.zippyvideos.com/5661841221820036/traveling_wilburys_-_interview_harrison_petty_lynne/

Good stuff.

We have a family policy about not talking about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. I have some ideas but not like a specific list yet.

Christmans starts so early now it bothers me. 2 local stations have already converted to pure Christmas music.

I'm looking forward to your write up robo. I used to disrespect Harrison for not being what I considered a great guitar player, but I over looked his melodical and compostional talent. furthermore, I love the ideas and values beehind his music, or what little of it I have heard (solo).

Just sent it.

TheDMV 11-21-2005 09:56 PM

If I ever find time, I hope I will get around to doing a write-up on Jack Johnson. I've wanted to do one forever but it just hasn't come to fruition. He's by no means classic rock, but I can imagine his intricate acoustic melodies and Laid-back style would appeal to some in this thread.

Is that link working for anyone? It isn't for me, for some reason. It's probably only my computer though..

The link I posted? meh links I post never work on mx. Copy and paste the link. It's a little more work but the interview is seriously awesome and anyone who hasn't watched it yet needs to watch it right now.

Thanks Jom, I'm downloading it now.

Revolver is perfect. "Tomorrow Never Knows" and "I'm Only Sleeping" are 2 of the first Psychedelic songs ever made.

Ninety-nine times out of one-hundred, I'm extremely polite in e-mail correspondence. Even when I YSI people messages, I leave a little blurb of niceness. No one reads it, but yeah. Haha.

Well I just clicked the link and works for me but I guess I did something wrong.

If somebody wants to tell me how to fix it that would help. I've never been good with linking things. Plus the interview is awesome and you all need to see it.

I'm Only Sleeping is such a fantastic psychedelic song. Please don't spoil my day, I'm far away....ah. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

np: Alice Cooper - No More Mr. Nice Guy

Illmatic 11-21-2005 10:31 PM

My only beef with Revolver is "Yellow Submarine", which is easily the worst Beatles song ever...everything else on there is great. "Got To Get You Into My Life" is my fave song off the album, I have to say (blasphemy, I know).

robo2448 11-21-2005 10:34 PM

I'm actually not a huge fan of Elanor Rigby. I love the lyrics and don't get me wrong, it's a good song, just not one of my favorite Beatles songs.

Does anyone have any Billy Preston albums? His an awesome keyboard player and has a really soulful voice. I love That's the Way God Planned It on Concert for Bangladesh.

np- My Sweet Lord (Billy Preston off Concert for George)

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-21-2005 10:36 PM

"Yellow Submarine" shows how the Beatles can turn an extremly simple song into a great song. It's a good song I don't know how you could hate it.

Cool picture I drew:

No problem, hope you enjoy. Especially "Birdfingers." Holy crap. I would kill to have that guy's embouchre :o
This one.
I think I originally showed you that :p

One of my local radio stations has been playing Christmas music since November 1st, but I choose not to listen until after Thanksgiving. That's probably when I'll bust out the list also. It's mostly cd's, movies, a guitar capo, and clothes this year.

TheDMV 11-21-2005 10:53 PM

Eleanor Rigby is one of the Beatles all time bests in my opinion. It has great lyrics sure, but the overall feel of the song is so meloncholy I don't why I love it but it manages to just strike a chord with me. The cello in that song is the PERFECT accent to it's beautiful lamentation.

I love the Earth, Wind and Fire Version of Got to get you into MY Life. The only part of the Beatles version that rivals the EWF cover is Paul's scream.

Yellow Sub is a sing-along classic. not much else to say. The voice that repeats certain lyrics is amusing, overall just a fun song with cool effects.

NP: Roy Orbison - Pretty Paper (I'm a-listnin to his greatets hits, pretty impressive. I enjoyed CAndy man The most)

magicbus 11-21-2005 11:01 PM

"Yellow Submarine" is the only song I tend to skip over when listening to Revolver. I can honestly say I don't like it. I guess I've heard it too much. My favorite song off Revolver is probably "I'm Only Sleeping".

Jacaranda 11-21-2005 11:01 PM

Does any one have the Album Yellow Submarine? I need it, that might sound odd but I went to go listen to "Hey Bulldog" and I couldn't find YS, and I remembered I lent it to a girl, but I got my haircut and she freaked out and broke it in half.

She's a psycho.

thickasabrick 11-21-2005 11:03 PM

I'm really diggin' this Minutemen album (I believe Badmoon sent it out). I'm on Dreams are Free Mother****er! Dream Told By Moto was my favourite so far....but Dreams are Free Mother****er! is also pretty damn cool.

I'm experiencing something extremely weird right now. I am sitting here drinking eggnog, and suddenly everything just went extremely trippy....as if I'm really stoned. I can't actually focus normally on anything, everything just seems so distant and unreal....straight lines are slightly wavy (kinda breathing, like a mushroom trip). It's a lot like that link that was posted a few pages back, except I haven't looked at that link in like two days. And I haven't done any drugs in weeks (except alcohol). Can anyone explain this? I ate some really spicy wings and when I finished them I had to run to get eggnog to cool down my mouth. Then about halfway through the eggnog the "effects" started happening. This is so weird. Everything is zooming in and then zooming out when I try to focus on it.

Another Roy fan:cool:

I really need his Mystery Girl album. It was recorded along with the Traveling Wilburies Vol. 1 right before his death. I'd be interested in hearing it 'cause it had Lynne producing it. But Orbison's stuff is impossible to find. If my parents didn't already have a bunch of his stuff I don't think I'd have anything by him.

blue3 11-21-2005 11:13 PM

What're you coughing about?

..Yeah, I'll send it to you. Might take awhile though cause my computer is crap.

Jacaranda 11-21-2005 11:22 PM

Thanks, a bunch I've been wanting this CD just because it seems I don't really listen to the Beatles any more and this was one of my favorites just cause it had so many high lights for me. I'm really the cliche Beatles type, Sgt. Peppers is my favorite even that I haven't listened to.
I think its cause of my MP3 player it doesn't justify the Beatles. *Shrugs* I confuse myself sometimes.

Seafroggys 11-21-2005 11:25 PM

My fav. Revolver song is probably She Said She Said or I Want to Tell You

robo2448 11-21-2005 11:38 PM

My favorite might be And Your Bird Can Sing. So short but I love the singing, the lyrics, and especially the guitar.

Edit- Favorite from Revolver that is.

Edit 2- Everyone vote George for the vocalist poll! Cornell will go through easily and aside from him it's mostly death metal guys who will hopefully steal some votes from each other.

blue3 11-22-2005 12:12 AM

I wanted to vote for Cornell too.. But I voted for George.
