just continue to listen to everything rate your music tells you to
The automatic recs section's pretty lol I know.
haven't you listened to enough music b4k you've probably listened to more albums then I have
An album a day keeps the doctor away. |
Dispirit's rehearsal tape is so awesome. I wish I could see them at scionfest.
|
Yeah, it's really good. Bitumen Amnii is one of the best songs I heard last year.
|
Saw them open for Agalloch. They rule, but they're more of a doom band. They have a few Black Metal parts though.
|
They share members with Asunder, right?
|
Wait are you sure you are thinking of Dispirit? They are very black metal. It's very Weakling-esque but more stripped down, no keys. Maybe you are talking about Asunder.
@ Txus Yeah it's Gossard from Weakling and Asunder |
Dude knows what's up.

@ Txus Yeah it's Gossard from Weakling and Asunder
Yeah, I haven't heard the demo, but when I saw them live they had one black metal riff, the rest was pure doom. |
Yeah he's got such awesome vocals. He's up there with my favorites out of BM. I was reading this interview with him and he said he used to yell at traffic in that voice to practice haha.
@Fatal Oh thats interesting. The demo is not doom at all. It's just droney, atmospheric BM like I said above. I wonder if they will put out other material like that or maybe they just settled into BM later on. |
i have that demo but havent listened yet
|
my friend and i had our first jam yesterday, finished recording on a song sans the vocals (which we're going to get done in the next couple of days - they will be high-pitched, along the lines of grinning death's head). sort of crusty bm, influences are GDH, vordr etc.
any comments on things to prove would be appreciated. the bass is not really tuned with the guitar but i think it's all right. i did the guitar and bass, my mate did the drums and mixing. i'll be doing the vocals when we get around to it. if anyone want's to hear what they're like , ihave an old track with my bm vocals. http://www.box.net/shared/nuub4sozcn (about 10 sec of silence at the beginning) |
ok i really hope i dont like this
|
it's pretty shoddy, total DIY job, but we had fun. i've been meaning to get this going for over a year now.
if you want an idea of waht the vocals will be like, here's something i recorded years ago with an acoustic guitar (was actually submitted for a karoake comp on here a while ago) http://www.box.net/shared/nuub4sozcn |
pretty awesome, punky as fuck. the only thing that got kind of annoying was the drumming, specifically the cymbals.
ill take a listen to the vox |
i think thats the same link as above
|
vox were 4 years ago so hopefully they'll be better and screechier now.
you didnt like the cymbals? i actually asked him to use more of the cymbals because im basically trying to do a slightly crustier version of grinning death's head. was it the cymbals as a whole that bothered you or just the way they sound/are mixed? oh yeah it is, here's the rigth one: http://www.box.net/shared/6n12mgxbpv |
that got me aroused, berkay
|
vocals were pretty good dude, i'd like to hear them with the song you posted though, hah.
i dunno, the crash just seemed a little too loud but im sure if they're mixed lower it'll sound fine. |
thanks. i think the vocals should work, just angry, pissed off screechy vocals.
ill see what can be done about the cymbals, i honestly think they're pretty cool sounding but maybe it'd be better if we mixed them lower (or rerecorded them). this is pretty much the first full cut of the first song so i'm sure it will change by the time we've got the 5 or 6 songs we want for the demo. and cheers mike :D |
tbh i really liked the whole mixing, i think the cymbal work is fine too....it does capture a pretty crusty vibe at times and i hadn't heard your vocals until now and they are quite strong, i think they will fit nicely
|
awesome broheem. once the vox are recorded ill post it up. im hoping to have the demo finished in a few weeks. need to actually write more songs though. if any of you are curious, here are the lyrics to that song:
jill be nimble jill be quick jill turned tricks sucked some dick jack found out jack was sick bashed her face in with a brick jack said 'jill' as jill bled bitch now let's see you give some head jack fucked jill not in bed he fucked her skull now jill's dead tentative title of demo is: unbearable holocaust |
http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?p=18409033
from now on
no worries thought it'd be okay coz i didnt make a new thread, just put it in the genre thread it belongs to |
Normally that'd be fine, it's just we've had like 6 of those MY PROJECT threads this month. Posting in the genre thread is usually the preferred method, but because we've had so much action on the topic I decided it's probably best to just isolate it.
|
no worries
but srsly, did you like my song |
gunna say that was fucking awesome best MY PROJECT shit yet
and those lyrics rule |
thanks man, it's appreciated. i was pretty amazed it turned out the way it did too, sounds too good for how much effort was put in. we're still canvassing band names at the moment, haven't really decided on one yet.
