Well, it depends on the key and such. Personally, I'd probably improv ... although I don't know how good you are at that...

Well, with blues and jazz .. there are realy no wrong notes, provided that you play the 'bad' ones on beats taht arent as 'important' and that you cover up well...

:amaze:

Spaceman Spiff 12-01-2004 10:37 PM

not that it'll help you or anything, but playing jazz is so much fun. :)

ridethelightning 12-01-2004 10:38 PM

yea it should be, but this stuff is sooooooo easy, either 5 notes max throughout enitre song, or a walking bass line. so easy. its not taht fun, cause its at 8 am in the morning. but i have to do it orelse my mom wont let me go to lessons, or have a bass or anything. but w/e
any recomendations on my solo???

With some practice, you could do this thing my instructor is having me work on... just take a scale and run it backwards, but starting from 8, and play:

8,7,6,5,4,7,6,5,4,3,6,5,4,3,5,4,3,2,4,3,2,1,3,2,1,5,1.

Something like that... that make any sense? The faster you go, the better it sounds.... it takes some gtetting used to.

ridethelightning 12-01-2004 10:58 PM
