AILD is pretty good, though not the best in the genre. I'm more of a sucker for just straight brutality and heaviness than anything else. AILD writes some great stuff and then other times just falls short.

they are sort of like Heaven Shall Burn, but with a more hardcore style. on their new album, they decided to add solos. i guess you can say they are a mix of Unearth and Heaven Shall Burn but not as good as the two

As I Lay Dying is one of the most generic bands ever, they are right up there with August Burns Red.

August Burns Red in my opinion is one of the most talented bands in the genre. They write in abstract numbers of 5 and 6 in their riffs instead of 4. That's why the riffs sound very random at times but there actually is a method to the madness. And you're dumb if you think their drummer isn't good.

I think their music isn't good. Plenty of talented instrumentalists and musicians are in shitty as **** bands.

While some people hate these guys I love 'em. And if you're a drummer then I'd like you see to try to keep up with this guys. He's phenomenal.

I just got All that Remain's first CD, "Behind Silence and Solitude."
At firs listen, I really didn't like it.

I also picked up "Wolfbiker" by Evergreen Terrace.
Not half-bad.

All That Remains first album is horrible.

This Darkened Heart is probably their best, from a songwriting perspective, and The Fall Of Ideals from an instrumental perspective. I like This Darkened Heart more though... much more memorable riffs.
