i'm booking this band for a show in gothenburg
we're totally gonna get drunk 2gefr |
That would be badass!
|
they want a lot of moneys, so we're thinking about cutting costs by letting up our friends apartment to them instead of booking a hotel (also, its very convenient since he literally lives 15 meters from the venue) and i am hoping theyre up for after-gig party
|
That would be sweet!
|
yeah i dont think they'd care about sleeping in an apartment over a hotel, the first time they toured europe they spent a lot of time squatting. but yeah i dont doubt it's pricey, they've always had very high powered booking agents, even back when ACUOS was out they were with a huge agency.

Rody hits a lot of the notes on Blindfolds Aside:

I find them very boring and all of their songs on each album sound pretty much the same. Aka I can't tell when the song changes.

Man, UO has fallen so far.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2MCwbOZkBA This is their newest big ticket band. Scene vocoder pop rock. |

It's just like...I remember when Mark was London and wore gross tank tops and had smelly dreads. Now he's pushing this. I mean, power to him, dude is a success, it's just...lololol the bands UO used to push were so not this. They had poopty half-assed political zines and now we've got Stereos.

Jesus. That's insane. I mean, good for him for turning a label for his friends' "yay anarchy!" bands into a legit business. But, Stereos? Seriously? Ugh. I'd rather listen to Brat Attack for eight hours straight than that trash. |
hah, the rest of the songs from that set are dead on though. rody just doesn't use a monitor live, as you can tell by that song because the audio is coming from the monitors and so you just hear him yelling.

That chick singer was like nails on a chalkboard and the up-the-punx! native guy on guitar was unbearable with his poopty zines. I actually watched that Disband show with Stereos on it, somewhat by accident just because I saw London on it. I had no idea he was Gene Simmons' A&R. That's bloody ridiculous. Of course his office was lined with PTH stuff, hah. |
Haha, yeah, they were pretty bad. I remember seeing them at Edgefest that year when UO had their own stage, and then... The Kezia CD release maybe? I dunno. Annoying, annoying, annoying.
Gene Simmons and London? Wow. And I had no idea until 10 minutes ago that UO was the booking agent for Andrew W.K. and Kevin Smith/Jay Mewes in Canada. They've come a long way - it's, well, it's odd. |
The Kezia release party was some dyke band actually. I want to say they were called the 'Whoremoans' or something like that. I was only 18 so I couldn't go.
