Danger Bird 01-20-2008 01:17 PM

Just re-downloaded Dr. Octagonecologyst. Why the hell didn't I like this the first time I heard it?

kyle6677 01-20-2008 11:20 PM

i can see why it could be passed over. it took me a while to get into it, and i still dont like some of the tracks. Earth People owns lives, though, i love that song

CarnageFairy 01-21-2008 12:40 AM

HALFSHARKALLIGATORHALFMAN!!!!

love that album.

The Return is pretty cool too. Gorilla Driving a Pickup Truck+++++++++++

Wyko 01-22-2008 11:31 AM

So I've listened to the Madvillain album for a few times... and I just don't see what's so good about it. Could anyone explain?

Rams 01-22-2008 05:33 PM

Because MF Doom says random things that comic book nerds love and Madlib uses weird samples and avoids isorhythms? I dunno. It's ok, but there are no grooves to it and I don't like Doom's flow anyways.

This is one of the coolest things in a long time. I wonder how long he can keep it up.

Well, you were right. MF Doom is wack and has a lame monotone boring style and annoying rhyme schemes. boo boo and who blew the glue to the yoohoo etc. I don't mind his special herbs beats, but madlib is lame, especially the beat he did for the legends on Classic. I think it's called "blast your radio."

Anyone else feeling Blu and Exile?

40 oz 2 freedom 01-26-2008 01:37 AM

I've been diggin Blu and Exile

Win A Rabbit 01-26-2008 02:07 AM

Why is it that I like approx 1 out of 50 rap/hiphop artists/bands that I come across?

40 oz 2 freedom 01-26-2008 03:30 AM
Why is it that I like approx 1 out of 50 rap/hiphop artists/bands that I come across?
I'm sure the ratio would be the same for just about every genre of music

Jaded 01-26-2008 05:32 PM

Well, the majority of rap music I hear sucks, but the majority of hip hop I can get something out of.

Anyway, I finally got my hands on 8 Diagrams, two tracks deep so far, sounds pretty good to me. Track 3 is alright, the bass gets a little bugged out sometimes, the hook is meh, but the beat is pretty cool.

Hep Kat 01-26-2008 05:37 PM

Does anyone else listen to Panacea?

Two guys making some fresh shit. I grabbed one of their albums, Ink Is My Drink randomly at a shop about a year and a half ago, and it pretty much slaughters, like, everything.

Jaded 01-26-2008 05:40 PM

What label is it on? Who are they affiliated with? Who does their production?

myspacing...

Checked out their myspace...cool stuff, doesn't exactly slaughter anything, but def good hip hop. Sounds kinda like people under the stairs except these guys actually have good lyrics. You'd like the sound providers and the procussions too I'd bet. Also Lightheaded.

I know what you mean, I've tried listening to MM. Food about 10 times and I can never finish the whole album, the beats and stupid rhyming schemes kill me.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-27-2008 07:27 PM

I like Doom's beats but his flow is annoying as ****.

Danger Bird 01-27-2008 08:41 PM

All right I loved Deltron, Dr. Octagonecologyst, and Bombay the Hard Way. What's some other awesome stuff Dan the Automator's done?

Happymeal 01-27-2008 09:14 PM
