im 14, been pLAYIN BASS FOR A YEAR, WANNA GET A GUITAR SOON WHEN I GET MONEY.......
gOT A FEW QUESTIONS

-ANYONE KNOW OF ANY GOOD FINGER/HAND/FOREARM, ETC. STRENGTHENING TEQNIQUES OR TABS, I Have a few tabs for my pinky, but i find my right hand cramps up after playin for a while and am forced to use a pick to keep goin, so i wonder if theres any way to make this better

-this is probly a dumb question, but does anyone got any tips on memorizing songs? i find i play so many new songs and stuff and am forgetting some

- does anyone know of any strings that give that Duff McKagen GnR sound, i cant describe it but it sounds similar to green day, and how often should i replace strings?

-my strings got some rust on em, y is this, any way to prevent this?

-ive read somethin about this but it was pretty unclear, but does anyone know anything about scale inversions or how to invert a scale or somethin?

-Anyone know of any bass solos similar to maxwell murder, id never heard of anything like that song, but thought it was pretty cool, cant play it up to speed, but try anyways...

-can i plug my bass into a 15 watt guitar amp? i figure it would blow the speaker but am not 100% sure,,

-can you get splitters for a single input amP?

i dont expect anyone to answer all these questions, or even any of them, but its worth a shot, I know its a lot of questions ppl probly already talked about, but id find it really helpful

This thread is not the place for this. Go to the bass forum, and you will get better responses.

What does it mean if someone replys to you...'Search function'??
I'm puzzled.

[QUOTE=RocketKev]What does it mean if someone replys to you...'Search function'??

They mean that the topic that you made a thread on has been done thousands of times. If you use the Search function you can search the forums for these threads if you want to find out other people's opinions on the subject.

The other Satriani thread died because the thread starter made a horrible thread. Your thread was well thought out and worded well so it should do well. It stays. Welcome to the forum btw!

thanks i've been around here for a while then signed up this month. I'd like to try post as much as possible in here to try eradicate n00bs from the r&m thread because, with what i've seen already, it must get tedious for you guys so i reckon i'll join the service of cleaning up mx.

edit: the recent influx of pointless threads has also helped me sway my decision to help. There's five closed threads at the moment!?

SonorKen 01-22-2005 09:32 AM

Well, just think really hard before you make a thread. When people make threads just to make one or cus they are bored they always turn out horrible. I also can't stand it when people make threads because they think it will make them popular on the forum or some crap. I have always said, people don't become popular users by creating threads, they become popular members by contributing intelligent conversation in EXISTING threads.

Have fun!

well i shall aim to do that and just generally stay out of folks ways and give some thoughtful input. :thumb:

^^ok

What about an Official Eric Clapton Thread? He's been in very influential bands, he's played 3+ styles of music, and he's been around since the 60's and is still rocking. Cream is playing in the Albert Hall next summer, btw

There won't be anymore official threads.
And official threads only get created when there are a large ammount of threads about one band on the forum at the same time. They're effectively just space savers. It doesn't matter how influtential/phsychadelic/morman the artist is, they don't get official threads dedicated to them for that reason.

There's no problem with an Eric Clapton thread, it's just you said official.

this thread is for asking questions about R&M, not guitar topics.
For guitar related topics please try the guitar forum.

No problem, my suggestion is to read the rules for the forums you post in, and to float on the forums for a while get a good sense of them and to see what is acceptable and how they work. Enjoy your stay here :)

Kage 01-23-2005 04:10 PM

I think I missed the whole thing about not having any more official threads. What's the deal?

bomber 01-23-2005 04:13 PM

are all official threads being taken off or something?
