Anyone else see that yet? Exactly like a (mild) mushroom trip!
Brian Wilson
His new album comes out soon, I think. It's called "What I Really Want For Christmas". Paul's was good, Neil's was good, Eric's not so good and the Stones I haven't heard. Let's hope Brian Wilson doesn't let it us. :crosses fingers:

thickasabrick 11-18-2005 07:16 PM

I wonder what it's gonna sound like. An acoustic album would be very interesting from him.

It's Jeff Buckley's birthday today. :)

Everyone say HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!

Badmoon 11-18-2005 07:42 PM

Reguarding the Tony Rice album I was going to upload,

the tracks will not convert to MP3; Itunes says it's a protected file and it will not convert. Perhaps this is a simple thing to change, but I don't know. So, as of now, I cannot upload any Tony Rice.

thickasabrick 11-18-2005 08:01 PM

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF!!!!

I have Till There Was You stuck in my head. I'm diggin' it. I love that solo (speaking about the Beatles version).

magicbus 11-18-2005 08:15 PM

Till There Was You is one of my favorite early Beatles songs. I like the feel of the song, however you'd explain it.

I'm uploading All Things Must Pass, and I think I can do Buddy Guy's new cd a little later.

Liam (I think that is your name EightMilesHigh, correct if wrong) - What's going on in 9 days?

thickasabrick 11-18-2005 08:20 PM

I would really like All Things Must Pass, I don't even think I've heard anything from it.

Till There Was You was definitely one of their more sophisticated early songs. Actually, I think it's one of their most sophisticated songs. Too bad they didn't write it.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-18-2005 08:21 PM

Am I the only one who likes SMiLE? I really dig it but almost everyone I've talked to say they don't like it at all.
Reguarding the Tony Rice album I was going to upload,

7 days until Paul McCartney!!!! :) :)

I seriously can't wait, I don't think I'm going to sleep at all the night before.

Trey Anastasio's performance on The Conan O'Brian Show for anyone who wants it.

magicbus 11-18-2005 08:33 PM

Didn't you already go to see him? Or am I thinking of somebody else..

thickasabrick, I think you'll like ATMP. They're all great songs, and there's like 20 of them on the double disc version I'm uploading.

Even if The Beatles didn't write Till There Was You, the acoustic guitar is awesome on it.

Why? It's not an illegal song and it was on cable television.

I think you're thinking of someone else. Seafroggyys and GeorgeHarrison have gone to see him, recently. And Schyma is going very soon.

Magical_Mystery_Tour 11-18-2005 08:56 PM

Man you guys go to see Paul live. Paul never toured up here recently, so I am left to watch Paul in Red Square over and over :upset:

Have any Woody Guthrie? I figure if anyone has anything by him it'd be either you or thickasabrick.

What Tony Rice album(s) do you recommend me getting first?

barney 11-18-2005 09:50 PM

Whats the best Creedence Clearwater Revival CD?

JonG 11-18-2005 10:17 PM

Cosmo's Factory
Willy and the Poor Boys
Chronicles(compilation)

zabbit82 11-18-2005 10:27 PM

Chronicle is a great one to start out with. I've listened to Cosmo's Factory on my dads record player a few times and I like it.

Alright, All Things Must Pass is up. If you don't have it, I suggest you download it immediately.
Have any Woody Guthrie? I figure if anyone has anything by him it'd be either you or thickasabrick.

Yea, I can upload some Woody Guthrie.

For Tony Rice, Backwaters (Which is what I couldn't upload) is just fantastic. Some of the best guitar playing, and beautiful compositions you'll find. Manzanita's pretty good too.

JonG 11-19-2005 01:13 PM

When oh when will thy Badmoon upload "Elevation"?

:(

Or anybody that has it.

JonG 11-19-2005 01:26 PM

Speaking of Dr. John, I will be seeing him in 7 days.

Eat it.

JonG 11-19-2005 01:39 PM

Heh, I sent out an album by him. I like him.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-19-2005 01:46 PM

Thanks Moon. :)
Schyma: regarding the line in "Sloop John B", that song is a cover of a traditional song, and I forget the original line, but Wilson changed it around as a nod to acid/shrooms and it really pissed off one of the other guys in the Beach Boys.
Even though I love the song/line, that would piss me off too. I mean changing a line in a traditional song so it can include a drug reference is just disgraceful. At least it was about a good drug.....:p

Shrooms > Any other drug

Badmoon 11-19-2005 02:08 PM

I'm upload the Dust Bowl Ballads, by Woody Guthrie.

And Unchained by Johnny Cash -- one of my favorite albums, let alone my favorite Johnny Cash album.
Speaking of Badmoon, his boy Dr. John played piano on the song "Let It Loose" by the Stones.
Pretty good song
When oh when will thy Badmoon upload "Elevation"?
Eventually.
Have any Woody Guthrie? I figure if anyone has anything by him it'd be either you or thickasabrick.

What Tony Rice album(s) do you recommend me getting first?
Haha the only Woody Guthrie I have are a few albums/compilations of his that I am borrowing from the library. I think there's enough late charges on them that I shoulda just went out and bought the albums.

You really can't go wrong with Tony Rice. Blackwaters (as Badmoon suggested) is my favourite album of his, but I've only actually heard a few of his albums. I actually prefer learning/playing his songs, than listening to him play them...but of course, he can always play them a hundred times better so it's nice to hear them every once in a while.

edit - hey Badmoon, could you send me that Guthrie album you are uploading....I'd upload some of my library ones, but my ripping program always quits about halfway through for some reason...so it's tricky. I want at least one of his albums that I don't have to give back in a few weeks.

And Schyma, did you get that acid yet? Shrooms are an amazing drug, I've been wanting to do them so badly lately...but they are very rare in winter around here. I think we are doing salvia tonight.

np: The Ballad of Hollis Brown. (TTTAA-C is such an amazing album, I used to not like it very much...now I absolutely love it).

Badmoon 11-19-2005 02:15 PM

What's your email? Is it on the mailing list?
And Schyma, did you get that acid yet? Shrooms are an amazing drug, I've been wanting to do them so badly lately...but they are very rare in winter around here. I think we are doing salvia tonight.
Well....we're supposed to get 100$ worth (how ever much this is I don't know) this weekend but I have my doubts about how this deal is going down. No-one sells shrooms down here if you want shrooms you have to go pick them for yourself and we haven't had rain in seemingly a half of a year and it's wayyy to cold for shrooms so I have to wait til' Spring for any shrooms to come popping from the ground. So no shroom trips for me for a few months. :-/

I've never heard of anyone getting salvia around here but I'd love to try it.

e p 11-19-2005 02:49 PM

Does Trey have new material out?

I saw him on Letterman and wondered if he had a new album and if it would be worth picking up.
