i got si monumentum and kenose like 1 year and a half ago and i tried several times to get into both but in the end i wrote the band off

i just put on a track or two earlier to see if my opinion was the same (it was) which is why i brought it up

i didn't enjoy si monumentum very much on my first few listens, it sorta grew though.

if you don't, then there's probably no point trying to get into them since that's a pretty good representation of their newer sound.

listened to both those links. that's a newer sound? sounds pretty simialr to what was on si monumentum (i realise it's from their new record). second song was slightly better.

idk, i haven't listened to si monumentum in ages and i haven't listened to it many times either. but i always had it in my mind they started to sound different after that album (and kenose). apparently everything before that album was darkthrone worship though.

yeah dude i honestly haven't given a shit about viking metal in years, for good reason, but this album really invigorates it. cuts out the bombast and cheese and pretty much sounds like what viking metal should sound like. def something i can get into even these days.
