You must be out of breath by now. I encourage the use of the period as a helpful breathing aid so that you don't accidently asphyxiate while posting on these message boards.

Rod Stewart has some great old songs, like "Maggie May".

i think ac/dc is the best, well for me any ways cause they have such a pure sound and the rythem and lead guitar are just so well put together with the beat and you cant forget angus's solos!

Well that's just super.

I've been really getting into Television's Marquee Moon album lately.

He was okay on the Jeff Beck album Truth.

I just got done watching the Rolling Stones rock documentary Gimme Shelter its about their concert at Altamont Speedway where one of the Hells Angels ended up stabbing a guy to death after he pulled a gun out and attempted to shoot Mick. Any one else seen it? Its pretty good. Really sad though too. It shows the Hells Angels just taking bats to people and stuff.

They're an australian hard rock band that peaked in the early 80's.

Some songs you may know:

You shook me all night long
Back in black
Highway to hell

Badmoon 07-09-2005 07:19 PM

...

Glitterati 07-09-2005 07:31 PM

I've heard about that Altamont thing. They were singing "Sympathy For The Devil" when it happened, and they don't perform it in concert anymore because of that
...
Yeah...I know.

Well I thought that also, I heard the guy was on LSD and thought Mick was the Devil so went to kill him, but it happened during Under My Thumb.

Yeah, must be some underground super-hip indie band.

np: Tom Waits - The Earth Died Screaming

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 08:43 PM

u dont know who acdc is?

Illmatic 07-09-2005 08:44 PM

No I do not, I'm afraid to say.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 08:50 PM

Man you don't know what you're missing.
They are an Australian hard rock band.
Their singer was Bon Scott 'til he died, then they got another guy who sounded and acted the same way. They had a famous lead player named Angus Young, famous for the School Uniform, and onstage antics. Look 'em up listen to some of their stuff. They got a bluesy shuffle feel, nothing fast, but loads of classic songs.

MBS 07-09-2005 08:52 PM

Neither I.

Illmatic, it seems we have been missing out on the hip music!

Edit:
Their singer was Bon Scott 'til he died, then they got another guy who sounded and acted the same way
Are you kidding me? Brian Johnson and Bon Scott did NOT sound the same at all. Bon's voice was more smooth and raw, Brian's was more.. uhh crackly if you get what I mean.

Illmatic 07-09-2005 08:53 PM

I mean, should this be ringing a bell? I had no idea these guys even existed. When were they in their prime? Because I am a big classic rock fan but I've never heard of them.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 08:56 PM

roughly the same it wasnt like frank sinatra and james hetfield or jimmy page

this should be ringing hells bells man

clown_phobia 07-09-2005 08:56 PM

Who likes alice cooper? I think he's pretty awesome with great songs.

Some great songs are I'm Eighteen, Under My Wheels, No More Mr. Nice Guy, school's out

There are many mroe great songs... such as Generation Landslide, Desperado, Only women bleed, department of youth, welcome to my nightmare!

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 08:57 PM

late 70's / early 80s.

Back in black (1980) was probably their peak.

But I know you guys are joking! We've discussed them in here before :thumb:

Glitterati 07-09-2005 09:03 PM

All this hype about AC/DC really made me want to check them out, I'll have to pick up something by them soon.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 09:04 PM

Back In Black is what I recommend.

Illmatic 07-09-2005 09:04 PM

late-70's/early-80's huh? Must have flown under the radar. I'll try to look into them.

hethamulburton 07-09-2005 09:05 PM
