Can anybody send me the Cool Edit Pro install file?
I would, but my pc isn't working. I know that CJ can though.

Planning to enter the comp? ;)

GurS 03-24-2005 03:23 PM

Rammsey, when the theme is "Metal songs in Lochrian mode", I'll submit one of my band's songs.

magicbus 03-24-2005 03:23 PM

Haha. Actually I don't play that much black metal. I might give it a shot, though, its a good idea.

And who's CJ? (not thinking right now)

Most metal songs are in Lochrian...

Anyways, submit one man, its harmless fun. Seriously.
Haha. Actually I don't play that much black metal. I might give it a shot, though, its a good idea.

Please enter. :( I don't want this thread to die.

Anyways, CJ is Cjborton, he posts plenty in here. I sent him CE pro a while ago, but I don't have it anymore, he should.

magicbus 03-24-2005 03:28 PM

Oh right, I'll check with him.

I'll try a song too. Is it cool if my friend helps me with the bass? Or does it have to be a solo effort. (/plays guitar)

GurS 03-24-2005 03:28 PM

I would, but I'm not a guitarist :)

Well, I'm an acoustic guitarist.

Jom 03-24-2005 03:28 PM

I don't know how to work those programs... but I think it [the thread] will be successful.

Joe 03-24-2005 03:28 PM

does anyone know any sites besides soundclick? he gave me something like "uploadhut.com" or somethin. any others?

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:31 PM

OH of course not man, in fact I encourage it, because of:
I would, but I'm not a guitarist :)

Well, I'm an acoustic guitarist.
See? So GurS you can stil enter it, it just has to be your song, as in, you had a hand in the production of it. ;)

RCA 03-24-2005 03:33 PM

Song competition?

Otherside 03-24-2005 03:34 PM

OMG hi

OMG bye

(I'm gonna go take a shower :\)

Joe 03-24-2005 03:35 PM

yea adding onto magicbus' question, only guitar and bass? or can you have your whole band doing it (not that i will, just in case anyone else wants to know)

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:35 PM
Song competition?
Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:36 PM
yea adding onto magicbus' question, only guitar and bass? or can you have your whole band doing it (not that i will, just in case anyone else wants to know)
Yeah, no problem, you can have the whole band doing it. YOU need to produce most of it though. (I know theres no way of telling if you did, but hey what the hell, lets be honest)

GurS 03-24-2005 03:36 PM

yeh, but... black metal on an acoustic?

magicbus 03-24-2005 03:37 PM
OH of course not man, in fact I encourage it, because of:
Alright cool. My friend's a big black metal fan, and he rules at bass. He sounded excited when I showed him the thread.

Last question before I go, when do the entries need to be in by?

RCA 03-24-2005 03:37 PM

I'll do a one-manned goregrind song entitled "My Cunt Is Throbbing Mad With Anger And A Bad Case Of Herpes".

munky_magik 03-24-2005 03:39 PM
yeh, but... black metal on an acoustic?
Hmm, I should really put down a deadline....

I'm not sure yet, but i'll end it around some
yeh, but... black metal on an acoustic?
No no no, you can can have your guitarist with his guitar put down the riffs. Unless all you guys have acoustics....time in two weeks.

RCA 03-24-2005 03:40 PM

Wait, I just saw the thread.

I'll make it gr1m.

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:41 PM
I'll do a one-manned goregrind song entitled "My Cunt Is Throbbing Mad With Anger And A Bad Case Of Herpes".
Lol, the themes black metal. So no Goregrind, unless it has a clear black metal influence.

And GurS: You can in fact do it by acoustic, if you check some of Vargs stuff...atmosphere is an important factor of black metal...hell any genere

GurS 03-24-2005 03:41 PM

Mu guitarist is one of those elitist cunts :(

I'll try the acoustic black metal if you want

RiceMonster 03-24-2005 03:41 PM

I'm almost done writting a black metal song actually. I have nothing to record with though. Sorry Ramsey. :upset:

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:41 PM

Go ahead. I think some of Burzums stuff is acoustic, with alot of atmostphere....

Joe 03-24-2005 03:42 PM

well great idea ramsey (i'd rep you but it was taken away awhile ago)

so are we gunna have a bunch of competitors? i wanna hear songs...

so now that we're doing this whole recording thing, what do you guys have to record? i use cakewalk '03 except i plug it right into my comp (epiphone SG --> dunlop crybaby --> boss super chorus --> boss metal zone --> computer) so the sound isn't very good

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:42 PM

Mic and guitar amp?

You don't really need drums although it would help...

And you can simulate real drums if you really tried...(again ask CJ)

I would use my POD and cakewalk and Fruity loops except my computer broke down :upset:

RCA 03-24-2005 03:44 PM

Anyone know any programs I can use to do drums? I know of no drummers in my area.

Well, I don't have a mic. I may be able to borrow one from my guitar teacher, so we'll see.

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:46 PM
Anyone know any programs I can use to do drums? I know of no drummers in my area.
Yep. If you have bit tornado you can download Fruity Loops studio. Or you can go the midi route and get midi drums from Guitar Pro 4 (which are alright really, its not bad, again ask CJ about this, I don't know crap about midi).

You can get Fruity Loops from ArrestThisMan, he posts here frequently.

Joe 03-24-2005 03:47 PM
Well, I don't have a mic. I may be able to borrow one from my guitar teacher, so we'll see.
well if he's got a mic he's probably got a way to record. if he's nice enough like that maybe he'll record something for ya :thumb:

munky_magik 03-24-2005 03:49 PM

I use: Guitar etc... > POD 2.0 > Graphic EQ > Cubase SX.

RCA 03-24-2005 03:49 PM

Ah, thanks.

Ramsey 03-24-2005 03:50 PM
I use: Guitar etc... > POD 2.0 > Graphic EQ > Cubase SX.
