Broken Arrow 11-14-2005 03:40 PM

Do just lurk in this thread and wait for someone to mention you or a band you like? Cause you dont really post that much anymore but your always around at times I'd think you'd be around.

Badmoon 11-14-2005 03:48 PM

I post and discuss topics I relatively know something about, like:

Badmoon
Grateful Dead
Jerry Garcia/Phil Lesh/Bob Weir/etc
Calexico
Uncle Tupelo/Wilco
Country Rock
etc

If it's a problem, I'll post more. And I don't usually lurk, I just use the Search alot.
What's Gizoogle?..
Its a search engine which translates any site into ghetto language. Good for a cheap laugh from time to time.

It just feels like somethings missing without you whoring country rock every chance you get and arguing with Schyma about anything and everything.

Seriously.

But can't you talk about good music once and awhile?
But can't you talk about good music once and awhile?
Doesn't Badmoon refer to CCR?

Broken Arrow 11-14-2005 06:05 PM

I acctually listened to Uncle Tupelo today!

It wasn't bad.

JonG 11-14-2005 06:05 PM

Badmoon Rising?

Indeed, "No Depression" is pretty good.

Deconstruction 11-14-2005 06:06 PM

The Who's Tommy is on T.V right now, I figured I would post that.

No, it has something to do with Keith Moon, I'm pretty sure.

Pffft, foolish Corleone!

Yea, pretty much.

Anyone else really excited about Walk the Line?

I can't tell how good the movie is going to be, but I'm assuming that I'll at least like the musical parts.

I'm afraid that Joaquin Phoenix's Johnny Cash singing voice won't be very realistic, but hopefully it'll turn out alright.

Broken Arrow 11-14-2005 06:20 PM

It looked like a cool movie from the commercials.

It's not that off. You can hear it on the trailer, and I know Roger Ebert's very impressed by his immitation.

Jacaran 11-14-2005 06:20 PM

I'm worried about Legally Blonde girl screwing with June's voice.

TheDMV 11-14-2005 06:21 PM

His voice seemed good to me. Though no one could ever truly match Cash's voice, methinks .

I've only seen trailers with him talking, I haven't seen the singing one yet. But I'll take your word for it.

Broken Arrow 11-14-2005 06:24 PM

Jimi's last in the poll, does he have that bad of a voice?

I think his voice was good, but apparently the guy from Dillinger Escape Plan are better than him, along with Axl Rose and a guy named Garm.

I like Jimi's voice. Jimi never butchered any Bob Dylan covers. Axl Rose should rot in hell for that:angry:

Not a technically great voice but it fit his music well. I like how it has that far-out feel that makes it sound psychadelic. And his singing could be pretty emotional like Little Wing.

If the guy from DEP is who I think it is, he is a horrible vocalist. He doesn't even sing, he just yells. No pitch changes. I think it's just a friend of the band that they picked up.

I considered Jimi (I like his voice a lot), but I honestly think Daltrey is better than anybody else in that poll.

Jacaran 11-14-2005 06:28 PM

Garm is way better. I like Axl Rose's voice so no complaints here. But Billy Corgan? He has to have the most annoying voice ever.

DEP just blows all around.

Welcome to R&M's finest.

Broken Arrow 11-14-2005 06:29 PM

Daltrey's better but I always pick who I like more.

EDIT-I dontknow who Garm is, I just thought he had a weird name

Glitterati 11-14-2005 06:30 PM
Anyone else really excited about Walk the Line?
Oo oo pick me. I definitely am. I'm going to see it with my dad, who's a big Cash fan.

I might get to listen to Pet Sounds in my painting class tomorrow :D
Anyone else really excited about Walk the Line?
Yea, I'm pumped. I caught the tail end of Cash at San Quentin on CMT on Saturday.

I agree with Bus about the guy from DEP, and I enjoy harsh vocals, but that guy does just yell.

And Garm is actually an extremely talented singer, he can go from sounding like an evil Viking from hell to some opera singer.

PinkFreud 11-14-2005 06:43 PM

it depends on who it is for dep. i love their ep with mike patton and supposedly, puciato (their 3rd vocalist) is somewhat reminiscent of patton at times.

whatever. i voted for daltrey because dickinson was killing.

jpj 11-14-2005 06:48 PM

I voted for Sting because Daltrey and Dickinson are definitely going through, and Hendrix doesn't stand a chance. The rest I just don't care for.

If this Puciato character is anything like Patton, than he can't be who I'm thinking of.

Krabsworth 11-14-2005 06:49 PM

I voted for Sting also.

JonG 11-14-2005 06:50 PM

What channel is Tommy on?!?!

I'll vote for someone, haven't checked yet.

I have the Cash album "Live at San Quentin", it's pretty good.

Deconstruction 11-14-2005 06:51 PM
