Did I tell you guys about when I bought The Times They Are A-Changin' on vinyl? I was really happy about finding one with the cover in such good condition, because right now I only have the CD and I wanted a vinyl one to listen to....well anyways, I bring it up there and the guy points out the fact that it's sealed. So I had to make the choice of leaving it sealed and not getting to listen to it, or opening it and enjoying it to its full potential. I opened it. It was a glorious moment.
|
That was a silly thing to do.
|
^ good choice. My uncle has an original copy of The Times They Are A-Changin'. He has a lot of cool albums, but he's pretty much a jackass so I never talk to him about music or about anything at all really.
All Things Must Pass is one of the most amazing albums ever. Definitely one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard. The anniversary of George's death is coming up in a couple weeks :( . I'm going to do a write-up on him on the anniversary. np- I Live For You |
haha, that sounds awesome.
I usually keep my viynl downstairs but I have three on display in my room for some reason. They are: Aoxomoxoa After the Goldrush Obscured By Clouds Downstairs I have my Quicksilver Messenger Service collection on display. (only 3 albums) :( |
I keep The Doors s/t and The Times They Are A-Changin' seperate, because they are both in such absolutely perfect condition that I don't want them associating with all those other scraggly albums.

w00t!!
/just finished 10 page book report on Chronicles Vol.1 |
iajp's making the first of his vs. threads. its jeff beck (me) against the smiths (him). you should all look at it and commend me on my writing prowess and then vote for jeff beck.
i have no idea how those two got matched together. |
Hmm, I guess I'll have to go Jeff Beck even though I'm not a fan of either, i'll admit hes a good guitar player.

Your supposed to vote based on the articles. :S I'm paired up against Shadows Fall, a metal band, I think. |
Yeah I know. I'm not voting at all.
EDIT-who are you writing for? |
Jane's Addiction, I have little or no hope of getting votes no one likes them in R&M. I should've went with the Stones.
|
I just read Freud's write up. Nice job man.

Oh, ya I remember your(EMH) thread about Jane's Addiction in Alt/Indie right when I signed up I was going to post but saw it was really old and some noob bumped and I didn't want to get in trouble. :S |
If any of those Albert King albums has "Blues Power" on it, can you send it to me? The song rules, but mine cuts off when he starts soloing :upset:

That song is amazing. I just got done listening to it. I'll be on Soulseek. |
Great job on the writeup Freud.
I'd love to have any of the Albert King albums if you could upload one of them. |
Once the last track finishes on "In Session", I'll upload them.

Anyone know any good WhiteSnake Albums.
|
I'm also listening to the Miles Smiles right now. It's pretty awesome.
I got banned for clicking a hack link  NP: Gingerbread Boy
They're fags for doing that. |

WhiteSnake played at a festival near me this summer (Brat Days). The singer got drunk and jumped off the stage and the show was cancelled.
They're fags for doing that.
Yea it's not like it was my fault. I didn't know the link did anything, and after I found out, I explained what happened and told them where I clicked it. So much for that. |
/Loses respect
No, my e-spect' is gone. But seriously this whole link thing is funny, people are now so paranoid about clicking links. |

I didn't know there was such a thing! /slaps knee |

zing!
more people should visit the vs. thread. it appears to be dying, even when stickied. |
Is it just me or whenever I read or hear interviews with Jeff Beck he seems really bitter and grumpy. Anyone else sense that?
|
ive never read or heard an interview with him. haha. he seems to be kind of reclusive and edgy. i could imagine him being like that in an interview.
|

New account I see. Good to see jolly ol' Mick back. I kind of thought Beck was kind of a hermit. np- Tangled Up in Blue  |
magicbus, if your account wasn't hijacked and it was just a threadspawning link, then I'll unban you now (it was me who banned you). I only banned you as I didn't know if chad had actually taken over your account or if it was just a threadspawner. Once you're unbanned could you change your password though (immediately, please). We've spent quite a long time today cleaning it up, so that's why people are being banned for it.
Eh, they're OK. Better than the Stones, anyway. :p Their reformation was horrible, but during their early work they were a good alt-rock band.
I'm pretty sure he didn't take over my account  I know I clicked a link, and then Gilmour told me about the thread it created, so it must've been an automatic thing. I'll switch my password right now. And I don't think Beck comes off as grumpy. In fact, he seems like a fun-loving, goofy kind of guy. I read an interview with him in Guitar World, and he seemed to be enjoying himself. We also saw a clip of him talking about when he met Hendrix in my Rock History class, and he was really laid back. |
It seems to be working alright, thanks Med :thumb:
