that is nice

Spaceman Spiff 04-14-2010 12:41 PM

I love it. It plays amazingly, sounds great.

I didn't order it or anything, it may be one of their limited runs or something, but it's a Fender Custom Shop. It has a chambered body, for one.

I should email Fender and find out everything about it.

All of 4chan is for people pretending they know more/are more than they really are.

Yeah, heart failure apparently.

Left Face Down 04-15-2010 10:37 PM

Sup Lod?

Annoyed with re-wiring my RG570. For some reason I'm not getting any where near logical sound out of the guitar in the switch positions. Position 5 is dead silent, position 2 seems to be giving me a combination of bridge tapped + middle single + neck tapped.

I really need to learn how to read the sides of a 5-way switch. As it seems every one I get needs to be wired differently than the last. Of course this is the same switch that was in with the DiMarzios and it worked fine then.

// Waits for customary Josh post telling me I'm a failure.

mnemonic 04-15-2010 11:47 PM

lfd, you are a failure

edit- sorry to steal your thunder, josh

Left Face Down 04-16-2010 12:11 AM

mnemonic's insults just don't have the power that Josh's do. Found a diagram on how the switch I use is wired, figured out how to do the H-S-H set up with it [found a diagram for S-S-S but I figured out which lugs are which off of it]. Problem is my SD Jazz seems to be un-responsive where as every thing else works fine.

If Josh had insulted me I know it would be working 100% right now. :upset:

mnemonic 04-16-2010 12:12 AM

sorry i gotta work on my form :upset:

JCBitB 04-16-2010 03:29 PM

Oh my God... Diezel is no longer having all their amps serviced through Terry Hicks. This is the best news I've heard in two years!

If any of you knew the hell I've been through with that rat bastard, you'd be celebrating too.

Left Face Down 04-16-2010 05:52 PM

So what phones does every one have? Looking at either the iPhone (every one is doing it) or the Blackberry Bold 9700. Fun way to spend tax returns. Any one have first hand experiences with either?

Kuffuffled 04-16-2010 06:41 PM

oh wow now you'll be on here 345/7

Left Face Down 04-16-2010 06:46 PM

It isn't like my Blackberry 8310 that I have can't access the internet. The BB browser just sucks balls and I have no real want to be on here 345/7. Though I'm leaning toward the iPhone because it's internet browser doesn't suck.

JoshIsNumber3 04-16-2010 08:19 PM

El-Ahrairah 04-17-2010 01:41 AM

LFD, if you were a real geek you'd get the Nokia N900 and run fancy linux programs on it. :-D You could write programs in Python on the move!

Left Face Down 04-17-2010 02:00 AM

I have a strict no slider phones rule and anyways AT&T doesn't have it. All my friends who have had slider phones (of various price ranges) have had the slide function screw up with in the first year. My friend (who now actually has an iPhone) had a Samsung something which slid one way to show a num-pad and then the other way to show a full key-board. Around month 7 he could make it into a Z type shape.

jaklyons 04-17-2010 02:03 AM

iPhone is awesome.

You've got a point there. If I had the financial resources right now, I'd get one of those phones running Android.
Do I need a portable linux machine? No. But it would be fancy scanning for unprotected wireless networks on the move, to download child pr0n over other people's internet connection

AG 04-17-2010 02:43 AM

I have some awful LG sliding thing. The Slider isn't the problem though, the stupid system is terrible.

20 second wait to look at my text messages? FUUUU

The_Mop 04-17-2010 04:52 AM

AG, what phone is that, specifically?

I've never had a prblem with sliders tbh,I think they're pretty cool.

My upgrade's happening soon (i'm eligible)but I have to wait for the phone I want to get in the stores. It's an LG GT405, kinda like an updated viewty apparently. Doesn't have GPS or Wifi, but it seems o.k, especially considering I can't spend a huge amount on a phone.

In the 3 store I nearly got an HTC hero on a cheap contract because I pointed out an error in their advertising...damn!

PS Iphones look like balls. HTC's where it's at \m/

AG 04-17-2010 05:30 AM

HTC are the best. I REALLY WANT AN HERO.

glock.jpg

Anywhos. I'll try and find out what sorta LG it is. It's new, and crap.

Blue_Moon 04-17-2010 06:18 AM

i enjoy my nokia 5730

JCBitB 04-17-2010 10:34 AM

I have an Iphone, and I think the strength is more in the apps than the horsepower. Lots of the newer phones seem to be more powerful, but I've got chord and arpeggio libraries, games to improve my sight reading, and other things I'd hate to lose.

Oh, and it's best if you jailbreak it. You can make it a mobile wireless hotspot, you can get turn by turn directions, you can multi task between apps and leave music players running in the background, all sorts of stuff

The_Mop 04-17-2010 10:42 AM

So basically, the iphones only worth it if you jailbreak it, allowing numerous security flaws and enabling it to do absolutely everything that any other android phone could do anyway....

...Yeah. Awesome.

JoshIsNumber3 04-17-2010 11:25 AM

Too bad the Android will never have an install base half as large as the iPhone, will never have the amount of developers working on it to make it better, and will ultimately fade into obscurity.

JCBitB 04-17-2010 11:32 AM

I'm not familiar with the apps available for android, but I'd say that's where it comes down to. Jailbreaking does open up the security of the phone, but the only exploit I've heard of affected the retarded kids who left their root password stock.

If you aren't pirating 0day apps that you can only find on one site on the whole internet, you'll be fine. Common sense goes a loooong way.

The_Mop 04-17-2010 12:03 PM
Too bad the Android will never have an install base half as large as the iPhone, will never have the amount of developers working on it to make it better, and will ultimately fade into obscurity.
Well, that entirely depends if Apple keep alienating their developers with the increasingly tightened restrictions on the app store, and within their hardware... It is however true that the iphone will have a larger install base, sadly because idiots will keep buying whatever piece of crap Apple piss out next.

Like the iPad. Seriously, Apple?

That said, I am quite pleased with the release of the iPad, mainly so that by reopening the market for tablet PCs, someone can come along and do it better.

That's my phone Mop. Anyways I'm a bit drunk on Pimms. What do?

The_Mop 04-17-2010 01:11 PM

Yer, I was about to upgrade to that phone. I decided that I'd wait for a new LG thing to come out. basically has the same features as our phone except it's a touchscreen thingymabob with a better camera. No wifi or GPs sadly :(
