I think Norma Jean's breakdowns, excluding their first album, aren't all that generic.

They're horrible, the drumming's mad sloppy, the vocals are meh at best, the guitarwork is bland.

it has nothing to do with progressive, it has everything to do with boring. slayer have a few good songs but they ruin it with shitty solos and shitty vocals, then they re-record it for a decade straight.

krisiun is just boring and plain. nothing stands out at all.
