i've only ever broken one string, which was D. snapping bass strings is scary! they fly off and whip you

UnknownSoldier 04-19-2004 10:13 AM

Yea dude... I was messin around with an old bass my dad gave me when I was like 10. I was playin it and the top string came flyin off and whiped my arm. Stung like a bitch.

Wiggles 04-19-2004 10:17 AM

I noticed that, and does anyone else get giant flakes of skin coming off when the chage the E string, I have callouses in the usual places but **** it was nasty. Probably should use needle nose pliers huh?
And don't worry Joe, it took me longer than 2 months to realise what this was.

UnknownSoldier 04-19-2004 10:21 AM

I have callouses all over the place. The tips of my fingers are calloused from bass and guitar, and the sides and bottoms are calloused from playin the drums. I am the callouse god. All bow before The Joe. :thumb:

thats because you suck at thrash. oh man thrash is good to play, although it destroys your wrist.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-19-2004 01:06 PM

I've broken one string since I got my guitar back on Oct' and I go all out on my guitar. You guys just need to learn how to play right.

superskankinactionhero 04-19-2004 02:43 PM

yeah they have big black lumpy bits on where all the bits of skin have built up.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-19-2004 02:52 PM

Gross dude, aslong as I've had mine they're in decent condition. I don't know why they haven't built up any crap on them, but until they do I see no need to change them.

kitty27 04-19-2004 02:53 PM

So I went to this concert Saturday (4-17-04) that a local radio station hosts and I saw the following bands:
* = SUPER performance/GREAT show
IMA Robot
Thornley*
Drowning Pool*
Lo Pro
Cold
Marcy Playground*
Three Days Grace*
Thrice*
Everlast
Lost Prophets*
Sevendust*
Finger Eleven*
Hoobastank*
Smile Empty Soul*
Trapt*
Puddle of Mudd*
Yep, gottan ugly sunburn, but I fun, and lots of it. Drowning Pool put on one of the BEST shows there and they're new singer is awesome.
Smile Empty Soul had the raddest pit, that's right, I said raddest. Lost Prophets are great live and best thing of all that night: Everyone of us there, all 17000 of us, sang with Puddle of Mudd. In fact, when the band began to play, "She F------ Hates Me" the lead singer was surprised to hear us sing, so surprised he let us sing the entire begining ourselves and he wore a big :D smile :D across his wonderful face.
It was great. There will be another one of those all day concerts this fall, and I will be there.

Sounds like the biggest pile of wank ever.

Agnostic Back 04-19-2004 03:19 PM

haha, alot of those bands sound the same, and all of them are awful.

Perhaps, oh, freshness of sound?

Let's Chop Cats! 04-19-2004 05:30 PM

I still get a great sound out of it, I mean I would notice the difference if I did change them, but I can still get a sound thats worthy of live shows or recording.

My strings really have no gunk on them, I don't know why but I'm not complaining.

pedro durruti 04-19-2004 05:31 PM

Sk8Ska, you stupid cunt. Get on soulseek and download Link 80 off of me right now.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-19-2004 05:32 PM

Hahaha, ok if it works for me, my pc has been freally fucked up lately.

Silvermedalmafia 04-19-2004 05:32 PM

Do you keep your guitar in a case or in the open?

Yeah, i change my strings every 2-3 months, the sound just gets so stale. I do play quite a bit, too. Normally between 10-20 hours a week.

Let's Chop Cats! 04-19-2004 05:33 PM

Yeah I keep it in the case, To much dust has collected on it just from playing it.

I play on avg. about 3-6 hours a day. I sit at my computer playing guitar and posting here.
