Nostalgia 11-12-2007 03:38 PM

Unholy's pretty good, but I don't listen to 'em much anymore.

Eliminator 11-12-2007 03:43 PM

austin do you like Skepticism

Nostalgia 11-12-2007 03:45 PM

Yeah. Stormcrowfleet ****ing rules.

Eliminator 11-12-2007 03:47 PM

i only have half of it because the download messed up, but it's awesome.

Stormrider 11-12-2007 03:53 PM

Stormcrowfleet is indeed amazing. I ususally skip Pouring, though.

I need to check out later Skepticism. I know not to expect another Stormcrowfleet, but anyway.

Nostalgia 11-12-2007 03:53 PM

Are you still enjoying the Doom: VS?

ATM 11-12-2007 03:57 PM

Om tomorrow night :-D

Eliminator 11-12-2007 03:59 PM

doom:vs rules. listened to the album a lot yesterday

i should probably try and get into stoner/sludge stuff like Sleep, but i don't want to hear one riff for an hour.

Nostalgia 11-12-2007 04:01 PM

Did you like the Wothan?

Eliminator 11-12-2007 04:04 PM

havent listened to it yet. just got some cheap headphones so i'll be able to listen to stuff more.

Nostalgia 11-12-2007 04:06 PM

Dude, the band has 3 plays on last.fm, and two of them are from me. If you don't like them, at least listen to them for their obscure factor.

pate 11-12-2007 04:28 PM
Yeah, I'm going to have to check this Unholy band out.

Same with Winter, actually. I get the feeling from Elims description they may sound a little like Elysian Blaze. Well, I can hope anyway.
Winter is great.

FatalEnergy 11-13-2007 04:37 AM

Listened to a little bit Unholy earlier. Cool stuff.

the2stranger 11-13-2007 06:45 AM

Thanks for the email Austin.
I'll be checking the bands out now. :)
Who here likes Disembowelment?
Transcendence Into The Peripheral is good stuff from what I remember, I haven't listened to it in a while.

Totenkrieg 11-13-2007 11:10 AM
yeah. some of the female vocals can be a little out of place though.

listening to Into Darkness by Winter right now. has a nice cold, distant sort of doomy feel to it. only problem i have with it is the production, as the guitars are just a little low in the mix.

the weird guitar noodlings and keyboards give it a sort of warped atmosphere. i like it a lot.
i dont remember any clean female vocals on that demo

also, ahhaha atthe obscure factor

Nostalgia 11-13-2007 11:51 AM

Yeah, I'm pretty funny.

publicastration 11-13-2007 12:09 PM

Could someone hook me up with some Bomb The Sun?

Nostalgia 11-13-2007 02:58 PM

Thinking of bidding on that.

Txus 11-13-2007 03:03 PM

That's a good deal.

Phototropic 11-13-2007 05:16 PM
Could someone hook me up with some Bomb The Sun?
buy the CD, they're a small town band working hard to get their music heard, don't steal from them

or check the myspace

jrowa001 11-13-2007 05:43 PM

which Candlemass album should i get next? all i have is their latest release, King of the Grey Islands

Eliminator 11-13-2007 05:47 PM
i dont remember any clean female vocals on that demo
there are female vocals on The Second Ring of Power, which was what i was talking about.

i thought you were talking about "Procession of Black Doom" the song, not the demo. my bad.

NemesisDivina 11-13-2007 05:53 PM
which Candlemass album should i get next? all i have is their latest release, King of the Grey Islands
NIGHTFALL

.

or Epicus Doomicus Metallicus...

Nostalgia 11-13-2007 05:55 PM

Nightfall.

jrowa001 11-13-2007 05:57 PM

k, ill get Nightfall. that was what i thought of getting but wasnt sure if there was a better album to get. thanks

pate 11-13-2007 06:31 PM

Nightfall, Epicus, Tales of Creation, Ancience Dreams

In that order.

Iron Bars 11-14-2007 03:09 AM

I still think From the 13th Sun is underrated.

NP: Count Raven - Let the dead bury the dead

pate 11-14-2007 09:06 AM

I agree, but I wouldn't call it essential.

Iron Bars 11-14-2007 10:33 AM

I would, because it shows another side of Candlemass that would otherwise remain unknown, instead of naming albums that are great but sound similar.

ATM 11-14-2007 01:36 PM

Om were incredible last night.

the2stranger 11-14-2007 01:39 PM

You go too a lot of good shows. :(
I had to miss Nadja a few months back because I was in norway. :(:(

Mexican Bandito 11-14-2007 01:42 PM

Went to see Orange Goblin the other night in York.
They put on an awesome show. The little venue was packed.
I got the set list from Joe :D

ATM 11-14-2007 01:42 PM

:(

Just being able to hear the guys from Sleep, it was amazing.

I really wanted to buy Holy Mountain on vinyl but didn't have the money.

Al Cisneros' bass tone is immense.

the2stranger 11-14-2007 01:45 PM

That's why I always take massive ammount of money with me to gigs.
I always hope to buy some ultra limited stuff, but that hasn't happened yet.
